2. Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety instructions before installing or operating this product. Failure to do so may result in property damage or injury.

  • Water Quality: Do not use this filter with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the unit.
  • Pressure Limits: Ensure the water pressure in your system does not exceed the maximum rated pressure of 125 psi.
  • Temperature Limits: Operate the filter only within the specified temperature range of 35-100 °F (2-38 °C).
  • Leak Prevention: Always check for leaks after installation and periodically during operation. Address any leaks immediately.
  • Disposal: Dispose of used filters according to local regulations.

3. Installation Instructions

Follow these steps carefully to ensure proper installation of your Neo-Pure inline water filter.

  1. Shut Off Water Supply: Locate the main water shut-off valve and turn off the water supply to the area where the filter will be installed.
  2. Check Flow Direction: Observe the flow arrows printed on the filter label. Ensure the filter is oriented correctly with the direction of water flow in your system.
  3. Remove Plugs (if applicable): If your filter comes with protective plugs in the fittings, remove them before installation. For quick-connect fittings, push in the collet while pulling out the plug.

  1. Connect Fittings:
    • For Quick-Connect Fittings: Push the scratch-free tube end into the fitting until it bottoms out. Ensure a secure connection.
    • For Threaded Fittings (1/4" FNPT): Apply Teflon tape to the male threads of your connection lines. Screw the filter onto the threaded connections and tighten firmly by hand, then an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn with a wrench if necessary, being careful not to overtighten.
  2. Restore Water Supply and Check for Leaks: Slowly turn on the water supply. Carefully inspect all connections for any signs of leaks. If leaks persist, discontinue use and contact customer support.
  3. Flush the Filter: Flush approximately 4 gallons of water through the filter before initial use to remove any carbon fines or air.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your inline water filter.

Issue: Leaks at Connections

  • Possible Cause: Loose connections or improperly applied Teflon tape (for threaded fittings).
  • Solution: Ensure all connections are tight. If using threaded fittings, re-apply Teflon tape correctly. For quick-connect fittings, ensure the tubing is fully inserted and the collet is secure. If leaks persist, discontinue use and contact customer support.

Issue: Reduced Water Flow

  • Possible Cause: Clogged filter due to sediment buildup or exceeding filter capacity.
  • Solution: Replace the filter. If the issue persists after replacing the filter, check other components of your water system.

Issue: Unpleasant Taste or Odor Returns

  • Possible Cause: Filter has reached its capacity for taste/odor reduction.
  • Solution: Replace the filter.
