5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

The Wintact WT313C requires two AAA batteries for operation. These are included in the package.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the handle of the thermometer.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

The device is now ready for use. If the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries promptly.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Measurement

  1. Point the thermometer at the target surface.
  2. Press and hold the trigger. The laser pointer will activate (if enabled) to help aim.
  3. The display will show the real-time surface temperature.
  4. Release the trigger to hold the last measured reading on the display.

6.3 Emissivity Adjustment

Emissivity is the ability of a material to emit thermal energy. Different materials have different emissivities. For accurate measurements, adjust the emissivity setting to match the target material.

  1. Press the 'MODE' button until 'EMS' appears on the display.
  2. Use the 'Up' and 'Down' arrow buttons to adjust the emissivity value (0.10 to 1.00).
  3. Press 'MODE' again to confirm and exit.

Note: Most organic materials, painted surfaces, and water have an emissivity of 0.95. Polished metals have lower emissivities.

6.4 High/Low Temperature Alarm

Set high and low temperature thresholds to be alerted when measurements fall outside the desired range.

  1. Press the 'MODE' button until 'HI' (High Alarm) or 'LOW' (Low Alarm) appears.
  2. Use the 'Up' and 'Down' arrow buttons to set the desired temperature threshold.
  3. Press 'MODE' again to save and cycle to the next setting or exit.

When the measured temperature exceeds the 'HI' setting or falls below the 'LOW' setting, an alarm light will illuminate.
