3. Installation Guide

This section outlines the general steps for installing or replacing your Waterdrop whole house filter cartridges. For detailed instructions specific to your whole house system, refer to your system's manual.

Safety Precautions:

  • Turn off the main water supply before beginning any installation or replacement.
  • Depressurize the system by opening a nearby faucet to release water pressure.
  • Ensure all connections are secure to prevent leaks.

Filter Replacement Steps:

  1. Turn off the main water supply to your home.
  2. Open a nearby cold water faucet to relieve pressure in the system.
  3. Locate the red pressure relief button on top of your filter housing (if present) and press it to release any remaining pressure.
  4. Use the provided filter wrench to loosen the filter housing. Turn counter-clockwise.
  5. Carefully remove the old filter cartridge and dispose of it properly.
  6. Clean the inside of the filter housing with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Inspect the O-rings for any damage and replace if necessary.
  7. Insert the new Waterdrop filter cartridge (WD-WF10H or WD-WF10S, ensuring correct placement if your system uses specific filters for each housing) into the housing, ensuring it is seated correctly.
  8. Hand-tighten the filter housing back onto the system. Then, use the filter wrench to tighten it an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Do not overtighten.
  9. Slowly turn on the main water supply.
  10. Once water begins to fill the housing, press the red pressure relief button again to release trapped air until water flows steadily.
  11. Flush the system by running cold water from a nearby faucet for at least 5 minutes to remove any air and carbon fines.

4. Operation

Once installed, the Waterdrop Whole House Filter Set operates automatically, continuously filtering all water entering your home. No further user interaction is required during normal operation.

Initial Flushing:

After installation or filter replacement, it is crucial to flush the system. Run cold water from a nearby faucet for at least 5 minutes. This removes any trapped air and fine carbon particles that may be present in the new filter, ensuring optimal performance and clear water.

5. Maintenance

Regular filter replacement is the primary maintenance requirement for your Waterdrop Whole House Filter Set to ensure continued high-quality water filtration.

Filter Lifespan and Replacement:

  • The WD-WF10SH filter set has a lifespan of 6 to 12 months or approximately 80,000 gallons, whichever comes first.
  • The actual lifespan may vary significantly based on your local water quality, sediment levels, and household water consumption.
  • Replace the filter cartridges when you notice a decrease in water pressure or a return of undesirable tastes or odors.

Refer to the "Installation Guide" section for detailed filter replacement steps.
