2. Smart Weather Skips

The controller can automatically adjust watering schedules based on local weather conditions to prevent overwatering and conserve water.

  • Rain Skip: Automatically suspends irrigation if rain is detected or forecast.
  • Freeze Skip: Prevents watering when temperatures drop below freezing.
  • Wind Skip: Skips watering during high wind conditions to avoid water waste.
  • Seasonal Adjust: Automatically modifies watering duration based on seasonal changes.

These features can be enabled or disabled within the app's settings for each program.

3. Irrigation Modes

The HiOazo app offers two primary irrigation modes to optimize water absorption and prevent runoff:

  • Cycle and Soak: This mode applies water in multiple short cycles with pause periods in between. This allows the soil to absorb water gradually, reducing runoff and promoting deeper root growth. It is ideal for sloped areas or compacted soils.
  • No Cycle and Soak: This mode applies water continuously for the set duration. Suitable for flat areas with good drainage.

4. Manual Irrigation

For immediate watering needs, you can manually start or stop irrigation for specific zones directly from the app. This is useful for testing your system or providing extra water to certain areas.

  • In the app, navigate to the 'Watering' section.
  • Select 'Quick Run' to initiate manual watering for a chosen zone and duration.

  • Keep Clean: Periodically wipe the exterior of the controller with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Check Connections: Annually inspect all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
  • Software Updates: Ensure your HiOazo app and controller firmware are up to date. The app will typically notify you of available updates.
  • Winterization: In regions with freezing temperatures, disconnect the controller and drain all water from the irrigation system to prevent freeze damage. Store the controller in a dry, protected area during winter months.
