Setup

Unpacking and Initial Placement

  1. Carefully remove the refrigerator from its packaging.
  2. Inspect the appliance for any shipping damage. If damage is found, do not operate and contact your retailer.
  3. Place the refrigerator on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit, especially around the compressor and fan areas.
  4. Allow the refrigerator to stand upright for at least 6 hours before connecting it to power. This allows the refrigerant to settle.

Power Connection

The Alpicool EC20 can be powered by 12/24V DC (car cigarette lighter) or 100-240V AC (standard wall outlet).

  • DC Power (12/24V): Connect the DC power cord to the refrigerator's DC input port and then to your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.
  • AC Power (100-240V): Connect the AC adapter to the refrigerator's AC input port, then plug the adapter into a standard wall outlet.

Ensure the power source is stable and provides the correct voltage. The refrigerator features a 3-level battery protection system to prevent excessive discharge of your vehicle's battery. You can adjust this setting via the control panel (see Operating section).

  • Power Button: To turn the unit ON/OFF.
  • SET Button: To enter settings mode or confirm selections.
  • Temperature Adjustment Buttons (+/-): To increase or decrease the target temperature.
  • Mode Button (if separate): To switch between MAX and ECO modes.

Setting the Temperature

  1. Press the Power button to turn on the refrigerator. The current internal temperature will be displayed.
  2. Press the SET button once. The temperature display will flash.
  3. Use the + or - buttons to adjust the desired temperature. The temperature range is typically from 20°C down to -20°C.

Switching MAX/ECO Modes

The EC20 offers two operating modes:

  • MAX Mode: Provides rapid cooling, ideal for quickly reaching the desired temperature.
  • ECO Mode: Optimizes energy consumption, suitable for maintaining temperature over longer periods, especially when power efficiency is critical.

To switch modes, press the SET button and hold it for approximately 3 seconds until the mode indicator changes (e.g., 'E' for ECO, 'H' for MAX/High). Release the button to select the desired mode.

Battery Protection Setting

This feature protects your vehicle's battery from excessive discharge. There are three levels: Low (L), Medium (M), and High (H).

  • High (H): Highest protection, the refrigerator will cut off power at a higher battery voltage. Recommended for vehicle starter batteries.
  • Medium (M): Moderate protection.
  • Low (L): Lowest protection, allows the refrigerator to operate at lower battery voltages. Recommended for deep cycle batteries or external power stations.

To adjust the battery protection level, turn off the refrigerator. Press and hold the SET button until the current protection level (H, M, or L) is displayed. Use the SET button to cycle through the levels. The setting will automatically save after a few seconds.
