1. Introduction

The Airgoo 16-Port Signal RGB Controller (model AG-DRGB16) is designed to expand and manage Addressable RGB (ARGB) lighting in your PC system. This controller allows you to connect up to 16 individual ARGB devices, providing independent control over each channel. It is powered via SATA and connects to your motherboard via USB 2.0, enabling software-based configuration through applications like SignalRGB or OpenRGB. This manual provides detailed instructions for installation, setup, and operation to ensure optimal performance and customization of your PC lighting.

2. Package Contents

Verify that all items are present in the package:

• 1 x Airgoo 16-Port ARGB Controller (AG-DRGB16)
• 1 x USB 2.0 to Motherboard 9-pin Cable
• 1 x S-ATA Power Cable

3. Hardware Installation

Follow these steps to install the AG-DRGB16 controller in your PC:

1. Mount the Controller: Utilize the magnetic fixture on the back of the controller to secure it to any steel surface inside your PC case. Ensure it is placed at least 5cm away from hard disk drives.
2. Connect USB Cable: Connect one end of the provided USB 2.0 cable to the USB port on the AG-DRGB16 controller and the other end to an available 9-pin USB 2.0 header on your motherboard.
3. Connect SATA Power: Connect the provided S-ATA power cable to the power input on the AG-DRGB16 controller and to an available SATA power connector from your PC power supply. Ensure your power supply can provide sufficient current on the 5V rails, especially if many devices are connected.
4. Connect ARGB Devices: Connect your ARGB fans, LED strips, AIO coolers, or other 5V 3-pin ARGB devices to any of the 16 available ARGB ports (A1-A8, B1-B8) on the controller. Each channel supports up to 256 LEDs.

4. Magnetic Fixture

The AG-DRGB16 controller features a magnetic base for easy and secure mounting within your PC case. This allows for flexible placement on any ferrous metal surface.

Caution: Do not place the controller directly on hard disk drives. Maintain a minimum distance of 5cm to prevent potential interference.

5. Software Configuration and Operation

The Airgoo AG-DRGB16 controller requires third-party software for configuration and control. It is compatible with SignalRGB and OpenRGB.

1. Download Software: Before attempting to configure the controller, download and install either SignalRGB or OpenRGB software. These applications are necessary to detect and control the AG-DRGB16.
2. Launch Software: Once installed, launch your chosen software (SignalRGB or OpenRGB). The software should automatically detect the connected AG-DRGB16 controller.
3. Configure Lighting: Within the software interface, you can configure lighting effects for each of the 16 channels independently. This allows for complex and layered lighting setups across various ARGB devices. SignalRGB offers granular customization, dynamic patterns, gradients, and hardware-reactive animations.
4. Real-Time Sync: The USB 2.0 connection ensures instant execution of software commands, providing real-time synchronization of lighting effects. The SATA power connection prevents flickering, even under maximum load with all 16 ports utilized.

7. Troubleshooting

• Controller Not Detected by Software:
  • Ensure the USB 2.0 cable is securely connected to both the controller and the motherboard header.
  • Verify that the SATA power cable is properly connected to the controller and the power supply.
  • Try a different USB 2.0 header on your motherboard.
  • Restart your computer after installation.
• ARGB Devices Not Lighting Up:
  • Check that all ARGB devices are correctly plugged into the controller's 3-pin ports.
  • Confirm that the controller is receiving power via the SATA connection.
  • Ensure the software (SignalRGB/OpenRGB) is running and the devices are configured within it.
  • Verify that your ARGB devices are 5V 3-pin compatible. This controller does not support 12V 4-pin RGB devices.
• Flickering or Dimming Lights:
  • Ensure the SATA power cable is firmly connected. Insufficient power can cause flickering.
  • Check your power supply's 5V rail capacity, especially if you have many heavily loaded ARGB devices.
• Software Conflicts:
  • If you experience issues with lighting control, uninstall any other RGB control software (e.g., motherboard manufacturer's RGB software, other peripheral RGB software) that might conflict with SignalRGB or OpenRGB. Run only one primary RGB control application.
• Loose Connections:
  • Ensure all ARGB cables are securely seated in the controller ports. Some users may find it beneficial to reinforce connections if they become loose.

8. Safety Information

• Always ensure your PC is powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet before installing or removing any components.
• Handle the controller and cables with care to avoid damage.
• Do not expose the controller to moisture or extreme temperatures.
• The built-in auto-resetting fuse protects against overloads and short circuits. If the lights suddenly turn off, check for short circuits or excessive load. The fuse will reset once the issue is resolved.
• Only connect 5V 3-pin ARGB devices to this controller. Connecting incompatible devices (e.g., 12V 4-pin RGB) may cause damage to the controller or the devices.
