1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Redkey MGC500 Robot Lawn Mower. Designed for efficient and autonomous lawn care, the MGC500 features advanced navigation, intelligent cutting, and user-friendly app control.
The Redkey MGC500 is equipped with C-TOF navigation technology for precise positioning and intelligent path planning, significantly improving mowing efficiency. It can handle slopes up to 45% and automatically returns to its charging station when the battery is low or during rain. The intelligent blade system adjusts cutting height via the app and adapts to grass density.

2. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance of your Redkey MGC500. Follow these steps carefully.
2.1 Package Contents
Before starting, ensure all components are present:
- Redkey MGC500 Robot Lawn Mower

2.2 Charging Station Placement
Select a flat, level area with access to a power outlet. Ensure there is sufficient clear space around the charging station for the mower to dock easily (at least 1.5 meters in front and 0.5 meters to the sides). Avoid direct sunlight or areas prone to water accumulation.
2.3 Boundary Wire Installation
The boundary wire defines the mowing area. Lay the wire around the perimeter of your lawn, securing it with the provided pegs. Ensure the wire is taut and buried slightly or covered to prevent damage. Maintain a minimum distance of 30cm from obstacles and 60cm for narrow passages. For islands around obstacles like flower beds, run parallel wires at least 20cm apart.

Figure 2.2: Recommended boundary wire layout and charging station placement.
The system features boundary wire break detection. If the wire is accidentally cut, the app can identify the damage location, making repairs easier with the supplied cable connectors.

2.4 Initial Power On and App Connection
Once the boundary wire is installed and the charging station is powered, place the mower on the charging station. Download the Redkey app from your device's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your mower via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. This will allow for firmware updates and full control.
3. Operating Your Robot Lawn Mower
3.1 Mowing Modes and Scheduling
The Redkey MGC500 utilizes C-TOF navigation for precise and efficient mowing. It plans intelligent paths, including transverse and longitudinal cutting methods, to cover your lawn effectively. You can set up multi-session mowing cycles through the mobile app, and the built-in RTC clock ensures tasks are performed on time even if disconnected from the internet.

The mower's C-TOF decimeter-level navigation accuracy results in less than 0.1% missed cuts, ensuring a consistently well-maintained lawn.

3.2 Cutting Height Adjustment
The intelligent blade system allows you to adjust the cutting height (1.18-2.76 inches or 3-7 cm) electronically via the app. This feature optimizes cutting performance based on grass conditions and desired lawn length. When encountering tall or dense grass, the intelligent blade automatically adjusts to ensure efficient completion of the mowing task.

3.3 Slope Handling and Obstacle Avoidance
The Redkey MGC500 is designed with two-wheel drive to navigate slopes up to 45% (24°). Collision sensors enable the mower to adjust its direction to avoid obstacles, ensuring smooth operation across varied terrain.

3.4 Automatic Charging and Rain Sensor
When the battery level drops below 15%, the mower automatically returns to its charging station. It resumes mowing after reaching 90% charge. Equipped with rain sensors, the mower will also automatically return to the charging station during rainy conditions to prevent damage and can be set to delay cutting after rain.

3.5 Real-time Tracking and Mapping
The user-friendly app allows you to monitor mowing progress in real-time, view the mower's current position, and see the coverage area. The app generates real-time maps of your lawn, providing accurate trajectory and progress updates.

4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Redkey MGC500.
4.1 Cleaning
The Redkey MGC500 has an IPX6 waterproof rating, allowing it to be used in light rain and wet conditions. This also means it can be easily cleaned with a hose. Regularly clean grass clippings from the cutting deck, wheels, and sensors. Ensure the charging contacts on both the mower and the charging station are free of debris.
4.2 Blade Care
Inspect the blades regularly for wear and damage. Dull or damaged blades can affect cutting quality and increase power consumption. Replace blades as needed. Refer to the app or the full manual for instructions on safe blade replacement.
4.3 Battery Care
For optimal battery life, allow the mower to return to its charging station automatically. During off-season storage, ensure the battery is fully charged and store the mower in a dry, frost-free environment.
5. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Redkey MGC500. For more detailed troubleshooting, refer to the Redkey app or the comprehensive online guide.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Mower not starting/moving. | Low battery; Emergency stop button pressed; Mower outside boundary wire. | Charge the mower; Release emergency stop; Place mower inside boundary. |
| Error Code E607 (or L093). | Boundary wire break or excessive wire length. | Check the app for the exact location of the wire break and repair using connectors. Ensure total wire length does not exceed specified limits. |
| Cannot connect to app/Bluetooth. | Bluetooth/Wi-Fi off on device; Mower not in pairing mode; App issues. | Ensure Bluetooth/Wi-Fi is enabled; Restart mower and app; Re-attempt pairing. Contact support if issues persist. |
| Mower gets stuck frequently. | Obstacles not properly excluded; Uneven terrain; Tall grass. | Adjust boundary wire around obstacles; Level uneven areas; Mow tall grass manually first or adjust cutting height. |
If you encounter persistent issues or error codes not listed here, please refer to the detailed troubleshooting guide available in the Redkey app or contact customer support.
