4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Starting a Cleaning Cycle
You can start a cleaning cycle via the NARWAL app or by pressing the button on the robot. The robot will begin mapping your home and cleaning according to its intelligent algorithms.
4.2 Obstacle Avoidance and Navigation
The Freo Z Ultra utilizes dual 1600x1200 HD cameras and dual chips for real-time decision-making and advanced obstacle avoidance. It identifies over 120 objects, avoiding hazards like pet accidents by 150mm and cleaning close to furniture legs (within 8mm).

4.3 Cleaning Modes and Performance
The robot intelligently identifies dirt and deploys appropriate cleaning modes. For wet messes, mops are deployed; for dry messes, mops are lifted to prevent spreading.

Figure 4.2: Real-time cleaning mode adjustments.
- Suction: Features 12,000Pa suction for effective dirt and pet hair removal from carpets and crevices.
- Mopping: Dual mops apply 1.2 kg of downward force and scrub at 180 RPM to remove stubborn stains. Triangular mop heads ensure edge-to-edge cleaning.
- Edge Cleaning: EdgeSwing technology and a dedicated baseboard cleaning module ensure thorough cleaning along walls and baseboards.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Base Station Maintenance
The Ultra Quiet Self-Empty Station performs several maintenance tasks automatically:
- Mop Washing: AI detects mop contaminants and cleans mops with hot water (104°F to 140°F) to flush grease, then reaches 167°F for hygienic cleaning.
- Mop Drying: A self-drying system prevents odors.
- Self-Emptying: The 2.5L dustbag holds up to 120 days of compressed dirt. Replace the dustbag when full.
- Self-Cleaning: The station cleans itself to maintain hygiene.
- Auto Refilling: The station automatically refills the robot's water tank.
