Introduction

The PROHEAR 022 Electronic Ear Protection is designed to safeguard your hearing while enhancing ambient sounds for improved situational awareness. These earmuffs provide 29dB SNR noise reduction, effectively blocking harmful loud sounds. They also offer 5X sound amplification to enhance ambient sounds such as voices and footsteps. Equipped with 4 omnidirectional microphones and HD speakers, they deliver clear directional audio, making them suitable for environments like shooting ranges, hunting, and loud workplaces. The device incorporates advanced sound-activated compression technology for instant noise blocking.

Setup

Battery Installation

The PROHEAR 022 requires two AAA batteries (not included) for electronic functions. To install:

1. Gently remove the battery compartment cover located on one of the ear cups.
2. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
3. Replace the battery compartment cover securely.

Adjusting the Headband

For optimal comfort and noise reduction, adjust the headband to fit your head snugly. The telescopic design allows for easy adjustment:

1. Extend or retract the metal wires on each side of the headband until the ear cups comfortably cover your ears.
2. Ensure a tight seal around your ears to maximize noise reduction.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off and Volume Control

The PROHEAR 022 features a recessed volume knob for easy operation:

1. To power on, rotate the volume knob clockwise until you hear a click.
2. Continue rotating the knob to adjust the amplification level of ambient sounds.
3. To power off, rotate the volume knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click.

Sound Amplification and Noise Reduction

The earmuffs are designed to amplify low-level sounds while instantly suppressing loud noises. This allows for clear communication and environmental awareness without compromising hearing protection.

• The 4 omnidirectional microphones capture sounds from all directions.
• The 5X amplification feature makes quiet sounds audible.
• When loud noises (e.g., gunshots) occur, the sound-activated compression system reacts in 0.0005 seconds to reduce them to a safe level.

Connectivity

The PROHEAR 022 earmuffs include a 3.5mm audio jack, allowing you to connect to various external devices such as mobile phones, MP3 players, or two-way radios. This feature enables you to listen to music or communicate while maintaining hearing protection.

Maintenance

Ear Pad Replacement

The ear pads are designed for easy replacement to ensure continued comfort and hygiene. Replacement gel ear pads are available for enhanced comfort.

1. To remove an old ear pad, gently pry it off from the ear cup, detaching it from the plastic clips.
2. Align the new ear pad with the ear cup and press firmly around the edges until it snaps securely into place.

General Care

• Clean the earmuffs with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Store in a cool, dry place when not in use. The foldable design allows for compact storage in the included carrying bag.
• Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
