3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Connecting Power and Controllers

Ensure your Scalextric track is properly assembled and connected to a suitable power supply and controllers according to your track set's instructions. The car operates via remote control (controller) connected to the track power base.

3.2 Basic Driving

  1. Place the car on the track as described in Section 2.2.
  2. Gently press the trigger on your controller to apply power to the track and make the car move.
  3. Increase pressure on the trigger to accelerate and release to slow down.
  4. Practice controlling the car's speed, especially around corners, to prevent derailing.

3.3 Magnatraction System

The car is equipped with a patented Magnatraction system, which uses magnets to increase downforce and improve grip on the track. This helps the car maintain stability and speed, especially through turns.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Car

  • Regularly clean the car body with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris.
  • Ensure the guide blade and braids are free from lint or hair, which can affect electrical contact.
  • Clean the track rails periodically to ensure good electrical conductivity.

4.2 Guide Blade Replacement

The easy-fit guide blade can be replaced from the exterior of the car without the need for tools. If the car is not tracking correctly or the guide blade appears worn, replace it with a new Scalextric guide blade (sold separately).

  1. Gently pull the old guide blade downwards to remove it from the chassis.
  2. Insert the new guide blade, ensuring the braids are correctly positioned to make contact with the track rails.

4.3 Tire Care

Keep the tires clean and free from dust or debris to maintain optimal grip. Worn tires can be replaced with genuine Scalextric replacement tires (sold separately).

5. Troubleshooting

  • Car not moving:
    • Check if the power supply is connected and switched on.
    • Ensure the controller is properly plugged in and functioning.
    • Verify the car's guide blade and braids are making good contact with the track rails. Clean if necessary.
    • Inspect the track connections for any breaks or loose sections.
  • Car derails frequently:
    • Reduce speed, especially around corners.
    • Check for debris on the track or tires.
    • Ensure the guide blade is not bent or worn.
    • Verify the Magnatraction magnet is clean and properly seated.
  • Intermittent power/stuttering:
    • Clean the track rails and car braids thoroughly.
    • Check for loose connections in the track or power base.
