Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your OTTOCAST Mini 2025 adapter:

1. Compatibility Check

Ensure your vehicle supports factory-installed wired CarPlay or Android Auto. This adapter is compatible with iPhone (iOS 10.0+) and Android (Android 11.0+). It is not compatible with BMW or Tesla vehicles.

3. Initial Setup Steps

1. Prepare Your Phone:
   • Ensure your phone's cellular data is turned ON (not Wi-Fi).
   • Turn on your phone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
   • Verify that Siri or Google Assistant is enabled.
   • If any previous adapters were paired, remove them from your phone's Bluetooth settings.

3. Pair with Bluetooth:

   • On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings and select the device named "CAR2-XXXX" (where XXXX is a unique identifier).
   • During pairing, your phone's Wi-Fi or hotspot connection may temporarily disconnect as the adapter uses the Wi-Fi channel for data transmission.

4. Post-Pairing Configuration:
   • Complete the Bluetooth pairing process.
   • Select "Allow" on all system prompts that appear on your phone and car display.
   • Wait for the blue indicator light on the adapter to stay on steadily, confirming a successful connection.
   • Enable permissions for CarPlay/Android Auto in your device settings if prompted.

Operating Instructions

1. Automatic Reconnection

Once paired, the OTTOCAST Mini adapter will automatically reconnect to your phone within approximately 5 seconds each time you start your vehicle, providing a hassle-free experience.

2. Voice Control

Utilize your car's built-in voice assistant by saying "Hey Siri" or "OK Google" to control navigation, music playback, calls, and messages hands-free.

3. Car Controls Integration

4. GPS Passthrough Mode

To enable GPS Passthrough Mode:

1. Ensure the Ottocast Mini adapter is connected.
2. Enter "192.168.1.101" in your phone's browser.
3. Select "Mode 1" in the GPS settings menu.
4. The adapter will restart automatically after setup (this is normal).
5. Enable GPS Passthrough permanently with one setup. (Note: Performance depends on your car's navigation system).

To return to phone GPS, repeat the steps and switch to "Default".

5. Video Playback Limitations

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto do not support video playback directly on the car's display due to wireless CarPlay limitations. While audio from video streaming on your phone can be played through the car stereo, the sound may not always sync perfectly with the video.
