1. Safety Information

Please read this instruction manual carefully before operating the RIOGOO Outdoor Garden Tap Timer. Keep this manual for future reference.

• This device is designed for outdoor use with water. Ensure all connections are secure to prevent leaks.
• Do not immerse the timer in water. The device is IP55 waterproof, meaning it is protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction, but not submersion.
• Use only 2 x 1.5V AA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
• Remove batteries if the timer will not be used for an extended period or during freezing temperatures to prevent damage.
• Operating water pressure range: 7.25 psi to 116 psi. Do not exceed these limits.
• Keep the device out of reach of children and pets.

4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Battery Installation

The timer requires 2 x 1.5V AA alkaline batteries (not included).

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the timer.
2. Twist and pull to open the battery cover.
3. Insert two new AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Replace the battery cover, ensuring the sealing ring is properly seated to maintain waterproof integrity.

4.2 Connecting the Timer to Your Tap

Follow these steps to connect the timer to your outdoor water tap:

1. Ensure the filter washer is inserted into the top inlet of the timer (Fitting 3/4" Hose).
2. Wrap the thread sealing tape around the threads of your outdoor tap for a watertight seal.
3. Screw the timer onto your outdoor tap securely. Hand-tighten only.
4. If your tap is 1/2" NPT, use the provided reduction hex bushing before attaching the timer.
5. Connect your garden hose or drip irrigation system to the bottom outlet of the timer (Fitting 3/4" Hose).

5. Operating Instructions

The RIOGOO Garden Tap Timer offers three watering modes: Automatic, Manual, and Rain Delay.

5.1 Initial Setup: Setting the Clock

1. Press the SET/OK button to enter programming mode. The clock icon will flash.
2. Use the + and - buttons to adjust the current time (hour and minute).
3. Press SET/OK to confirm each setting and move to the next.
4. Once the clock is set, press ESC/Manual to return to the main display.

5.2 Programming Watering Schedules (Automatic Mode)

This mode allows you to set a recurring watering schedule.

1. From the main display, press SET/OK repeatedly until the 'START TIME' setting flashes.
2. Use + and - buttons to set your desired watering start time. Press SET/OK to confirm.
3. Next, 'HOW LONG' (watering duration) will flash. Use + and - to set the duration from 1 minute to 23 hours 59 minutes. Press SET/OK to confirm.
4. Then, 'HOW OFTEN' (watering frequency) will flash. Use + and - to set the frequency from 1 minute to 23 hours 59 minutes, or 1 to 7 days. Press SET/OK to confirm.
5. After setting all parameters, the timer will return to the main display. The automatic schedule is now active.

5.3 Manual Watering

Manual mode allows for immediate, temporary watering without interrupting your programmed schedule.

1. From the main display, press the ESC/Manual button. The display will show 'MANUAL' and a duration.
2. Use the + and - buttons to set the desired manual watering duration (from 1 minute to 23 hours 59 minutes).
3. Press SET/OK to start manual watering. The timer will begin watering immediately for the set duration.
4. To stop manual watering early, press ESC/Manual again.

5.4 Rain Delay Function

The rain delay function pauses your automatic watering schedule for a set period, saving water after rainfall.

1. From the main display, press SET/OK repeatedly until the 'DELAY' icon flashes.
2. Use the + and - buttons to select the desired delay duration (from 1 to 7 days).
3. Press SET/OK to confirm the rain delay. The timer will pause its schedule for the selected number of days and automatically resume afterward.
4. To cancel the rain delay, repeat the steps and set the delay duration to '0' or press ESC/Manual to exit.

5.5 Child Lock Function

To prevent accidental changes to your settings, activate the child lock:

• To activate: Press and hold the SET/OK button for 3 seconds. A lock icon will appear on the screen.
• To deactivate: Press and hold the SET/OK button for 3 seconds again. The lock icon will disappear.

5.6 Low Power Protection

The timer is equipped with a low power protection feature. When the battery level is critically low, the timer will automatically shut off the valves to prevent continuous watering and conserve remaining power. Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears on the LCD screen.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the LCD screen or if the timer malfunctions. Refer to section 4.1 for battery installation steps.

6.2 Cleaning the Filter

Periodically check and clean the filter washer located at the top inlet of the timer to prevent blockages and ensure proper water flow. Remove the timer from the tap, take out the filter, rinse it under running water, and reinsert it.

6.3 Winter Storage

Before the first frost, disconnect the timer from the tap and hose. Remove the batteries. Store the timer indoors in a dry, frost-free location to prevent damage from freezing water.
