2. Safety Information
Adhering to these safety guidelines is crucial for preventing damage to your smartphone and the underwater case.
- Pre-Dive Test: Always perform a waterproof test without your phone inside the case before each use, especially after maintenance or if the case has been stored for a long period. Submerge the empty case in shallow water for at least 30 minutes.
- O-Ring Maintenance: The O-ring is critical for waterproofing. Keep it clean, free of dust, sand, or hair. Lubricate it regularly with silicone grease (not included). Inspect for any cracks, tears, or deformities before each use.
- Sealing: Ensure the case is properly closed and sealed according to the instructions. Any foreign object or improper closure can compromise the waterproof seal.
- Depth Limit: Do not exceed the maximum waterproof depth of 40 meters (130 feet).
- Temperature Range: Operate the case within the specified temperature range of 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F). Extreme temperatures can affect the case's integrity and your phone's performance.
- Battery Safety: Use only new, high-quality AAA batteries. Ensure correct polarity during installation. Remove batteries if the case will not be used for an extended period.
- Avoid Impact: Protect the case from drops or impacts, which can damage the housing or lens window.
- Phone Overheating: Smartphones can generate heat, especially during video recording. To minimize overheating, enable airplane mode, disable unnecessary apps, and reduce screen brightness when possible.

- Locate the battery compartment on the case.
- Open the compartment cover carefully.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the compartment cover securely.
4.2. Initial Waterproof Test (Without Phone)
Before first use and after any maintenance, perform a waterproof test.
- Ensure the case is empty and clean.
- Close the case securely, making sure the O-ring is properly seated and free of debris.
- Submerge the empty case in a sink or bucket of water for at least 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, remove the case, dry its exterior thoroughly, and open it.
- Inspect the interior for any signs of water leakage. If water is present, do not use the case with your phone. Re-check the O-ring and sealing, then repeat the test.
4.3. Smartphone Preparation and Insertion
Ensure your smartphone is compatible and prepared for underwater use.
- Compatibility: Your smartphone must fit within the internal dimensions of 175mm (L) x 85mm (W) x 8mm (D). The camera lens should align with the 68mm x 68mm lens window.
- Operating System: Compatible with iOS 13.0.0 and above, Android 7.0.0 and above, and HarmonyOS 2.0.0 and above.
- Screen Settings:
- Disable auto-lock or set it to the longest possible duration.
- Maximize screen brightness for better visibility underwater.
- Disable any gestures or features that might interfere with touch input through the case.
- Connectivity: Enable Bluetooth on your phone. The case connects directly via Bluetooth, no app required.
- Airplane Mode: For optimal battery life and to minimize overheating, consider enabling airplane mode and then manually turning on Bluetooth.
- Antifog Sheets: Place one or two antifog sheets inside the case to prevent condensation.
- Insertion: Carefully place your smartphone into the case, ensuring it is centered and the camera aligns with the lens window.
4.4. Sealing the Case
- Before closing, double-check that the O-ring is clean, lubricated, and correctly seated in its groove.
- Close the case firmly, ensuring all latches are securely fastened.
- Use the provided vacuum pump handle to create a vacuum inside the case. This helps confirm the seal and provides an extra layer of protection. Follow the instructions provided with the vacuum pump.
4.5. Attaching the Red Filter and Adapter Ring
The 67mm thread adapter ring and red filter can be attached to the front of the case.
- Screw the 67mm thread adapter ring onto the lens port of the underwater case.
- Then, screw the 67mm red filter onto the adapter ring.
- The red filter is designed to automatically compensate for color loss at depths greater than 15 feet, restoring warm hues.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Basic Controls
The SF-PH-01 Pro allows direct control of your smartphone's camera functions via Bluetooth.
- Shutter Button: Press to take photos or start/stop video recording.
- Mode Button: Cycle through camera modes (e.g., photo, video).
- Zoom Buttons: Adjust zoom levels (if supported by your phone's camera app).
Note: Specific button functions may vary slightly depending on your smartphone model and camera application. Test controls in shallow water or on land before deep dives.
5.2. Underwater Photography Tips
- Lighting: Natural light diminishes quickly underwater. Use the red filter for color correction at depth. For deeper dives or darker conditions, consider external underwater lights (not included).
- Stability: Hold the case steady to avoid blurry images, especially in currents.
- Proximity: Get as close as possible to your subject to reduce the amount of water between your lens and the subject, improving clarity and color.
- Battery Life: Underwater photography can consume significant phone battery. Ensure your phone is fully charged before use.
6. Maintenance
6.1. After Each Use
- Rinse the exterior of the case thoroughly with fresh water immediately after use, especially after saltwater exposure. Do not open the case before rinsing.
- Allow the case to air dry completely in a shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight.
- Once dry, open the case and remove your smartphone.
- Inspect the O-ring. Carefully remove it from its groove, clean it with the provided cleaning cloth, and apply a thin layer of silicone grease. Re-seat the O-ring properly.
- Clean the lens window with the cleaning cloth.
6.2. Storage
- Store the case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- It is recommended to store the case with the latches open to prevent compression of the O-ring over long periods.
- Remove AAA batteries if storing for an extended period.
