5.2 Installation Steps

  1. Prepare the Door and Frame: Identify the mounting locations for the magnetic lock on the door frame and the armature plate on the door. For inswinging doors, the ZL bracket is required.
  2. Install the ZL Bracket:
    • Attach the L-bracket to the door frame using appropriate screws.
    • Attach the Z-bracket to the L-bracket. Ensure proper alignment for the magnetic lock.
    • Refer to Image 5.1.2 for bracket orientation.
  3. Mount the Magnetic Lock:
    • Secure the magnetic lock body to the ZL bracket using the provided screws.
    • Ensure the lock is level and firmly attached.
    • Refer to Image 5.1.1 for lock dimensions and Image 5.1.2 for bracket assembly.
  4. Install the Armature Plate:
    • Attach the armature plate to the door, aligning it with the magnetic lock. Use the included screws and washers.
    • Ensure the armature plate can pivot slightly to allow full contact with the magnetic lock face when the door is closed.
    • Refer to Image 5.1.1 for armature plate dimensions.
  5. Mount the Exit Button:
    • Choose a convenient location inside the door for the exit button.
    • Mount the stainless steel exit button using screws.
    • Refer to Image 5.1.3 for exit button dimensions.
  6. Position the Power Supply Controller and Remote Receiver:
    • Mount the power supply controller and remote receiver in a secure, accessible location, preferably near a power outlet and away from moisture.
    • Ensure proper ventilation for the power supply.
  7. Wiring the System:

IMPORTANT: Disconnect all power before beginning any wiring. The system requires wiring between the magnetic lock, exit button, remote receiver, and power supply. While the kit includes a plug connector, additional wiring (not included) may be necessary depending on your installation distance and specific setup.

Detailed wiring diagram for the YUHANUS Access Control System

Image 5.2.1: Detailed wiring diagram for the YUHANUS Access Control System.

    • Power Supply to AC: Connect the power supply (AC 110V-220V) to a standard wall outlet using the provided power cord.
    • Magnetic Lock to Power Supply: Connect the magnetic lock's V+ and V- terminals to the corresponding +12V and GND terminals on the power supply controller.
    • Exit Button to Power Supply: Connect the exit button to the PUSH and GND terminals on the power supply controller.
    • Remote Control Receiver to Power Supply: Connect the remote control receiver's V+ and V- terminals to the +12V and GND terminals on the power supply controller.
    • Remote Control Receiver to Power Supply (Lock Control): Connect the NO (Normally Open) or NC (Normally Closed) terminal of the remote receiver to the CTRL+ and CTRL- terminals on the power supply controller, depending on your desired lock behavior (fail-safe or fail-secure). Refer to the diagram (Image 5.2.1) for standard connections.
    • Delay Time Adjustment: The power supply controller features a "Delay Time Adjust Button" (refer to Image 5.1.5). Use this to set the desired delay for the lock to remain open after activation (e.g., after pressing the exit button or remote).
  8. Test the System:
    • Once all connections are made, carefully restore power.
    • Test the magnetic lock by closing the door. It should engage.
    • Test the exit button: Pressing it should momentarily release the lock.
    • Test the remote controls: Pressing the unlock button on a remote should momentarily release the lock.

6. Operating Instructions

The YUHANUS Door Access Control System is designed for straightforward operation.

6.1 Locking the Door

When the door is closed, the magnetic lock will automatically engage, securing the door. Ensure the armature plate makes full contact with the magnetic lock for maximum holding force.

6.2 Unlocking from Inside (Exit Button)

To exit from the secured area, simply press the stainless steel exit button. The magnetic lock will disengage for the duration set by the delay timer, allowing the door to be opened.

6.3 Unlocking with Remote Control

Use one of the four provided remote controls to unlock the door wirelessly.

  • Press the unlock button (often depicted as an open padlock) on the remote control.
  • The magnetic lock will disengage for the set delay time, allowing the door to be opened.
  • The remote control has an operating range of up to 165 feet.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your access control system.

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the magnetic lock, armature plate, and exit button with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Check Connections: Periodically inspect all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
  • Functionality Test: Regularly test the magnetic lock, exit button, and remote controls to confirm they are operating correctly.
  • Armature Plate Alignment: Ensure the armature plate is clean and makes full, even contact with the magnetic lock face. Adjust if necessary.
  • Remote Control Batteries: Replace remote control batteries when their range decreases or they stop functioning.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your access control system, refer to the following troubleshooting guide.

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Magnetic lock does not engage. No power to the system.
Loose wiring connection.
Armature plate misalignment.
Check power supply connection and outlet.
Inspect all wiring according to the diagram (Image 5.2.1).
Adjust armature plate for full contact with the magnetic lock.
Exit button does not unlock the door. Incorrect wiring of the exit button.
Faulty exit button.
Verify exit button wiring to PUSH and GND terminals on the power supply (Image 5.2.1).
Test the button for continuity if possible.
Remote control does not unlock the door. Remote control battery is dead.
Remote receiver wiring issue.
Remote control out of range.
Replace remote control battery.
Check remote receiver wiring to power supply and lock control terminals (Image 5.2.1).
Ensure you are within the 165-foot operating range.
Lock releases too quickly or too slowly. Delay time setting is incorrect. Adjust the "Delay Time Adjust Button" on the power supply controller (Image 5.1.5).
System components (wires, screws) were not included. Misunderstanding of included components. The kit includes mounting hardware for the magnetic lock and bracket, and a power cord. Additional wiring for connecting components (e.g., magnetic lock to power supply, exit button to power supply) is typically purchased separately based on installation needs. Please refer to the "Package Contents" section.
