4. Setup

4.1 Connecting the Keyboard

The ROYALAXE D98 keyboard offers three connection methods:

1. USB Wired Connection:

   Connect the provided USB Type-C cable from the keyboard to an available USB port on your computer. The keyboard will be automatically recognized and ready for use. This mode also charges the keyboard battery.

2. 2.4G Wireless Connection:

   Locate the 2.4G USB receiver (usually stored in a compartment on the keyboard). Insert the receiver into a USB port on your computer. Slide the mode switch on the keyboard to the "2.4G" position. The keyboard should connect automatically.
3. Bluetooth Connection:

   Slide the mode switch on the keyboard to the "BT" position. The keyboard will enter pairing mode (indicated by a flashing LED). On your device (computer, tablet, smartphone), navigate to Bluetooth settings and search for new devices. Select "ROYALAXE D98" from the list to pair. 5.1 RGB Backlight Control

The ROYALAXE D98 features 22 different RGB lighting effects. You can cycle through these effects using the dedicated function keys or through the driver software. 5.2 Hot-Swappable Switches

2. Use the provided switch puller to carefully grip the switch and pull it straight up to remove it from the socket.
3. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes in the socket. Ensure the pins are straight to avoid bending.
4. Press the new switch firmly into the socket until it clicks into place.
5. Reattach the keycap.

The keyboard supports both 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches.

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the keyboard surface. For deeper cleaning, remove keycaps and use compressed air to clear debris from between switches. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the keyboard frequently. If storing the keyboard for an extended period, charge it to about 50% and store in a cool, dry place.
