2. Safety Instructions

  • Connect the CEE plug to a properly grounded and rated power outlet.

4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Hexinex EV Charging Cable:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the charging cable and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Inspect: Check the cable, connectors, and control box for any visible damage. Do not proceed if damage is found.
  3. Power Source: Ensure the CEE power outlet you intend to use is properly installed, grounded, and rated for 16A, 3-phase (400V).
  4. Placement: Position the control box in a stable location, away from direct sunlight, rain, or excessive heat, ensuring the cable can reach both the power outlet and your vehicle without tension.
  5. Connect to Power: Insert the CEE plug firmly into the designated 3-phase CEE power outlet. The control box display should illuminate.
  6. Connect to Vehicle: Open your vehicle's charging port cover and firmly insert the Type 2 connector into the vehicle's charging inlet. Ensure it clicks into place.

The charging cable is now ready for operation.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Starting a Charge

Once the cable is connected to both the power source and the vehicle:

  • The LED display on the control box will show the current status.
  • The vehicle may perform a self-check before initiating charging.
  • Charging will typically start automatically. Monitor the display for confirmation.

5.2 Adjusting Current and Setting a Timer

You can adjust the charging current and set a timer using either the control box or the mobile app.

Using the Control Box:

  • Press the designated button(s) on the control box to cycle through available current settings (6A, 8A, 10A, 13A, 16A).
  • Use other buttons to set a charging delay timer (1-10 hours) if desired. This allows you to start charging at off-peak hours.

Using the Mobile App:

  • Download and install the Hexinex EV Charger app on your smartphone.
  • Pair the app with your charging cable via Bluetooth (if applicable, as indicated by "Bluetooth-Steuerung" in safety features).
  • From the app, you can remotely start/stop charging, schedule charging times, and monitor real-time progress.

5.3 Ending a Charge

To end the charging process:

  1. Stop charging via the mobile app or by pressing the stop button on the control box (if available).
  2. Disconnect the Type 2 connector from your vehicle's charging port.
  3. Disconnect the CEE plug from the power outlet.
  4. Store the cable neatly in its provided bag.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your charging cable.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the cable and control box with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure connectors are clean and free of debris.
  • Storage: Store the charging cable in a cool, dry place, preferably in its storage bag, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid kinking or bending the cable sharply.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the cable, connectors, and control box for any signs of wear, cuts, cracks, or discoloration. If any damage is observed, discontinue use immediately and contact customer support.
  • The product is rated IP65, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. However, it is not designed for immersion.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Hexinex EV Charging Cable, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
