1. Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe installation, efficient operation, and proper maintenance of your NeoPure 11 Gallon Reverse Osmosis Water Storage Tank. This tank is specifically designed to store purified water from residential and commercial reverse osmosis filtration systems, ensuring a readily available supply of clean water.
2. Safety Information
- Read all instructions thoroughly before attempting installation or operation.
- Professional installation is recommended for all reverse osmosis storage tank applications.
- Do not exceed the maximum operating pressure of 100 PSI (6.7 bar). Exceeding this pressure can cause damage and void the warranty.
- Do not expose the tank to temperatures above 104°F (40°C) or below 40°F (4.4°C).
- Inspect the tank for any signs of external damage or corrosion before installation. Do not install a damaged tank.
- Ensure adequate ventilation in the installation area.
3. Package Contents
- 1 x NeoPure 11 Gallon RO Storage Tank (Model ROT-11-34W)
- 1 x Plastic Tank Stand
4. Product Overview
The NeoPure 11 Gallon Reverse Osmosis Water Storage Tank is engineered for reliability and water purity. It features a durable powder-coated steel exterior, a virgin polypropylene liner to ensure pure, tasteless, and odorless water storage, and an advanced post-cured chlorobutyl diaphragm. The tank is equipped with a 3/4" MNPT stainless steel water connection for secure integration into your RO system.

5. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of your NeoPure RO storage tank:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the tank and its components from the packaging. Inspect for any visible damage. If damaged, do not proceed with installation and contact your supplier.
- Positioning: Place the plastic tank stand on a flat, stable surface in the desired location for your RO system. Ensure there is adequate space for making connections and for future maintenance.
- Tank Placement: Carefully place the RO storage tank onto the plastic stand, ensuring it is stable and level.
- Water Connection: Connect the 3/4" MNPT stainless steel water connection located on the top of the tank to the purified water output line of your reverse osmosis system. Use appropriate thread sealant, such as PTFE tape, on the male threads to ensure a leak-free connection. Hand-tighten, then use a wrench for an additional 1-2 turns. Do not overtighten.

- Air Pre-charge Check (Optional): The tank comes pre-charged from the factory. While typically maintenance-free, if you need to verify the air pre-charge, locate the air valve (similar to a tire valve) at the bottom of the tank. The factory pre-charge is typically 7-10 psi (0.48-0.69 bar). Use a low-pressure gauge to check. Do not over-pressurize.

Figure 5: A detailed close-up of the brass air valve located on the side of the NeoPure RO tank, used for checking or adjusting the air pre-charge.
- System Flush: Follow your reverse osmosis system's instructions for initial flushing to remove any manufacturing residues and ensure proper operation of the entire system.
- Leak Check: After completing the installation and flushing, carefully check all connections for leaks. Tighten any leaking connections as necessary.
6. Operating Instructions
Once properly installed and connected to your reverse osmosis system, the NeoPure storage tank operates automatically:
- The RO system will produce purified water, which then flows into the storage tank.
- As water enters the tank, the internal bladder expands, compressing the air pre-charge in the outer chamber.
- When you open your RO faucet, the compressed air pushes the purified water out of the tank and through the faucet.
- The tank will automatically refill as water is drawn from it, maintaining a continuous supply of purified water.
Note: The actual usable water volume from the tank will be less than its stated capacity (11 gallons) due to the internal air bladder and system operating pressure.
7. Maintenance
The NeoPure RO storage tank is designed for minimal maintenance, but periodic checks are recommended to ensure optimal performance.
- Periodic Inspection: Regularly inspect the tank for any signs of external damage, leaks, or corrosion. Address any issues promptly.
- Air Pre-charge Adjustment (if necessary): If you notice a significant decrease in water flow from your RO faucet, the air pre-charge in the tank may need to be checked and adjusted.
- To Check: Close the tank's shut-off valve and drain all water from the tank by opening the RO faucet. Once empty, use a low-pressure gauge to measure the pressure at the air valve (Figure 5).
- To Adjust: If the pressure is below the recommended 7-10 psi, use a bicycle pump or air compressor to slowly add air until it reaches 7-10 psi. Do not exceed 10 psi.
- System Sanitization: Follow your RO system manufacturer's recommendations for periodic sanitization of the entire system, including the storage tank, to prevent bacterial growth and maintain water quality.
8. Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below for common issues and their solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Low water flow from RO faucet | Low air pre-charge in tank | Check and adjust air pre-charge to 7-10 psi (see Section 7). |
| Low water flow from RO faucet | Clogged RO filters or membrane | Replace RO filters and/or membrane as per your RO system manufacturer's schedule. |
| Tank not filling | Shut-off valve to tank is closed | Ensure the shut-off valve to the tank is fully open. |
| Tank not filling | RO system malfunction | Refer to your RO system's manual for troubleshooting. |
| Water tastes or smells unusual | Tank or system requires sanitization | Sanitize the entire RO system, including the tank, as per your RO system's manual. |
| Water tastes or smells unusual | Expired post-filter | Replace the post-carbon filter in your RO system. |
| Leak at connections | Loose connection or insufficient sealant | Tighten connections and/or reapply PTFE tape. |
