1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Wurkkos HD12 LED Headlamp. This compact and versatile lighting device is designed for various outdoor activities, emergency situations, and daily use. It features dual white and red light sources, multiple brightness levels, USB-C recharging, and a durable, waterproof design. Please read this manual carefully before use to ensure proper operation and maintenance.

2. Safety Instructions

  • Do not shine the light directly into eyes. The powerful beam can cause temporary vision impairment.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Ensure the battery cap is securely tightened before exposing the headlamp to water to maintain its IP68 waterproof rating.
  • Use only recommended batteries and charging cables. Incorrect usage may damage the device or pose a safety risk.
  • Avoid disassembling the headlamp, as this may void the warranty and cause damage.
  • The headlamp can become warm during prolonged use at high brightness levels. This is normal.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Unscrew the tail cap of the headlamp.
  2. If a plastic insulator disc is present on the negative terminal of the battery, remove it.
  3. Insert the 14500 Lithium-Ion battery with the positive (+) end facing towards the head of the light.
  4. Screw the tail cap back on tightly to ensure proper contact and waterproof sealing.
  5. Alternatively, you can use a standard AA battery, but note that performance (lumens and runtime) will be reduced.

5.2 Attaching the Headband

  1. Slide the headlamp body into the rubber mount on the headband. Ensure it is securely seated.
  2. Adjust the headband straps to fit comfortably and securely around your head. The breathable mesh design helps prevent sweat buildup.

6. Operating Instructions

The HD12 features a single side switch for all operations.

6.1 White Light Modes

  • Turn ON/OFF: Single click the switch to turn the light ON or OFF.
  • Change Brightness: When ON, press and hold the switch to cycle through Low → Medium → High. Release the switch to select the desired brightness.
  • Moonlight Mode: When OFF, press and hold the switch for 3 seconds to activate Moonlight mode (1 lumen).
  • Turbo Mode: Double click the switch from any state (ON or OFF) to activate Turbo mode (850 lumens). Double click again to return to the previous mode.
  • Mode Memory: The headlamp will remember the last used white light brightness level (except Turbo and Moonlight) when turned off.

6.2 Red Light Modes

  • Activate Red Light: Triple click the switch from any state (ON or OFF) to activate the red light mode.
  • Change Red Light Brightness: When red light is ON, press and hold the switch to cycle through Low → Medium → High. Release to select.
  • Red Light Blinking: Double click while in red light mode to activate blinking. Double click again to return to the previous red light mode.
  • Turn OFF Red Light: Single click the switch.

6.3 Magnetic Tail Cap

The magnetic tail cap allows the HD12 to be attached to metal surfaces for hands-free operation, which is particularly useful during repairs or in emergency situations.

7. Charging

The Wurkkos HD12 features a convenient USB-C charging port.

  1. Locate the USB-C charging port on the side of the headlamp, usually covered by a rubber flap.
  2. Open the rubber flap and connect the provided USB-C cable to the port.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, power bank, computer USB port).
  4. During charging, the indicator light on the switch will glow red.
  5. Once fully charged (approximately 3-4 hours), the indicator light will turn green.
  6. After charging, ensure the rubber flap is securely closed to maintain the IP68 waterproof rating.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the headlamp with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasives.
  • O-rings: Periodically inspect the O-rings for wear and tear. Replace them with the provided spare O-rings if necessary to maintain the waterproof seal. Apply silicone grease to O-rings to prevent drying and cracking.
  • Threads: Keep the threads of the tail cap clean and lightly lubricated to ensure smooth operation and proper sealing.
  • Battery Storage: If storing the headlamp for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent leakage. Recharge the battery every 3-6 months to prolong its lifespan.

9. Troubleshooting
