2. What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your EVDANCE Level 2 EV Charger, please ensure all the following components are present:

3. Setup and Installation

The EVDANCE Level 2 EV Charger is designed for both wall-mounted and portable use. Follow these steps for installation:

3.1 Wall-Mounted Installation

  1. Mark Position and Install Anchors: Choose a suitable location near your NEMA 14-50 outlet. Use the control box holder and charger cable holder as templates to mark drilling points on the wall. Drill holes and insert appropriate wall anchors.
  2. Fix the Holders: Securely attach the control box holder and charger cable holder to the wall using the provided screws.
  3. Place Charger on Holder: Insert the control box into its holder and drape the charging cable over the cable holder to keep it tidy.

3.2 Power Connection

The charger is equipped with a NEMA 14-50 plug. Ensure you have a compatible 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet available. This charger is not compatible with NEMA 5-15, NEMA 10-30, or NEMA 14-30 outlets.

  1. Insert the Plug: Firmly insert the NEMA 14-50 plug of the EV charger into the dedicated 240V NEMA 14-50 socket.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Connecting to Your Vehicle

The EVDANCE charger features a NACS connector, compatible with all Tesla models (Model Y, 3, S, X) and other NACS-compatible electric vehicles. For non-NACS vehicles, a J1772 adapter (not included) is required.

  1. Wireless Port Door Control: Press the button on the NACS connector to automatically open your Tesla's charging port.
  2. Plug In: Insert the NACS connector firmly into your vehicle's charging port. The charger will automatically begin charging.
  3. Disconnecting: To disconnect, press and hold the button on the connector handle to release the latch, then pull the connector from the charge port.

4.2 Adjustable Charging Current

You can customize the charging speed to match your needs and home circuit capacity. Press the 'A' button on the control box to cycle through available current settings: 10A, 16A, 20A, 24A, 32A, and 40A.

4.3 Delayed Start Function

To save on energy costs by charging during off-peak hours, use the delayed start function. Press the clock button on the control box to set a delay from 1 to 12 hours.

5.1 General Maintenance

  • Keep the charging cable neatly coiled when not in use, utilizing the provided Velcro straps or cable holder.
  • Regularly inspect the cable and connectors for any signs of damage, wear, or corrosion.
  • Clean the charger's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your EVDANCE Level 2 EV Charger, refer to the LED status indicators (see Section 4.4) for initial diagnosis. Common issues and solutions are listed below:

  • Charger Not Powering On: Ensure the NEMA 14-50 plug is fully inserted into a live 240V outlet. Check your circuit breaker.
  • Vehicle Not Charging (Blue Flashing LED): Ensure the NACS connector is securely plugged into the vehicle's charging port. Verify the vehicle's charging settings.
  • Ground Fault (Red Flashing LED): Disconnect the charger from the power outlet and the vehicle. Reconnect after a few minutes. If the issue persists, consult a qualified electrician to inspect your electrical system.
  • General Fault (Red Solid LED): Disconnect the charger from both power and vehicle. Wait for 5 minutes, then reconnect. If the fault persists, contact customer support.
  • Slow Charging: Check the current setting on the charger's display. Ensure it is set to the desired amperage (e.g., 40A for fastest charging).
