4. Operating Modes
The Jancane WiFi Extender supports two operational modes:
- Repeater Mode: Extends your existing wireless network wirelessly. It connects to your main router and re-broadcasts the signal, expanding coverage to dead zones.
- Access Point (AP) Mode: Converts a wired internet connection into a wireless access point. Connect the extender to your router via an Ethernet cable, and it will broadcast a new Wi-Fi signal.

5. Optimal Placement
Proper placement of your WiFi Extender is crucial for maximizing signal coverage and performance.

Image 5.1: Importance of extender placement for signal strength.
After initial setup, relocate the extender to a position that is:
- Between your router and the Wi-Fi dead zone: The extender needs to receive a strong signal from your main router to effectively re-broadcast it.
- Not too close to the router: Placing it too close will not significantly extend coverage.
- Not too far from the router: If the signal from the router is too weak, the extender will not be able to function effectively.
- Look for a location where the extender's signal indicator shows a good connection to your main router.
6. Connectivity and Compatibility
The Jancane WiFi Extender is designed for broad compatibility and robust connectivity.
- Wide Compatibility: Compatible with any wireless network devices that comply with the 802.11N/B/G standard, including routers, modems, smartphones, tablets, laptops, and smart TVs.
- High Speed: Offers transmission rates up to 300Mbps, suitable for online gaming, video conferencing, and 4K high-definition video streaming.
- Device Capacity: Capable of supporting up to 58 devices simultaneously.

9. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your WiFi Extender, consider the following:
- No Power: Ensure the extender is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check the power indicator light.
- No Wireless Signal: Verify that the extender is within range of your main router. Relocate it closer if necessary. Ensure the Wireless LED is blinking or solid green after setup.
- Cannot Access Setup Page: Ensure your device is connected to the extender's default Wi-Fi network (e.g., "Repeater-xxxxxx") before attempting to access the setup page. Try entering 192.168.11.1 in your browser.
- Weak Extended Signal: Adjust the extender's position. It should be placed where it receives a strong signal from your main router while still being able to cover the desired dead zone. Avoid placing it near large metal objects or appliances that may cause interference.
- Forgotten Password: If you forget the extender's login password or the extended Wi-Fi password, you may need to reset the device to factory defaults using the Reset button (refer to Section 2).
- Intermittent Connection: Ensure your main router's firmware is up to date. Check for sources of interference (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones).
