A detailed parts list and hardware pack are included in the packaging. Refer to the separate assembly instruction sheet for specific component identification and quantities.

4. Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps carefully for proper assembly. It is recommended to have two people for assembly to ensure ease and safety.

  1. Unpack and Identify Parts: Carefully unpack all components from both boxes and lay them out on a clean, soft surface. Compare them with the parts list provided in your package to ensure everything is present and undamaged.
  2. Assemble the Headboard: Begin by assembling the storage headboard sections. Attach the side panels to the main headboard panel using the provided hardware (e.g., cam locks, dowels, screws). Ensure all connections are secure but do not overtighten.

  4. Attach Side Rails: Connect the long side rails to the assembled headboard using the appropriate bolts and nuts. Make sure the rails are correctly oriented with the pre-drilled holes facing inward for slat attachment.
  5. Install Footboard: Attach the footboard to the other end of the side rails. Ensure all connections are firm and the frame is square.
  6. Insert Support Slats: Place the plywood slats across the bed frame, resting them on the support ledges of the side rails. Secure them according to the instructions in your package, typically by screwing them into the side rails. These slats provide robust mattress support and eliminate the need for a box spring.
  7. Close-up images showing 10 sturdy plywood slats, solid wood legs, and tight connections of the bed frame.

  8. Final Tightening: Once all parts are assembled and aligned, go back and gently tighten all screws and bolts to ensure a stable and secure structure. Avoid overtightening to prevent damage to the wood.

5. Usage

5.1 Mattress Placement

Place a twin-size mattress directly onto the plywood slats. The embedded design of the bed frame helps keep the mattress securely in place. A mattress thickness of 8 inches is recommended for optimal fit and comfort.

A green checkmark indicates correct mattress placement within the frame, while a red cross shows incorrect placement where the mattress sits on top of the frame.

5.2 Storage Headboard

The integrated bookcase headboard provides convenient storage for books, small decorations, or personal items. Ensure items placed on shelves do not exceed the weight capacity of 110 lbs per shelf to prevent damage.

5.3 Under-Bed Clearance

The bed frame offers 6 inches of clearance underneath, which is suitable for additional storage bins or for easy cleaning with a vacuum cleaner or robot vacuum.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Bed frame is wobbly or unstable. Loose connections (bolts/screws) or incorrect assembly. Check and tighten all bolts and screws. Ensure all parts are correctly aligned according to the assembly instructions.
Missing parts after unpacking. Packaging error or parts lost during unpacking. Refer to the package contents list. If parts are genuinely missing, contact COSTWAY customer support for replacement parts.
Squeaking or creaking noise. Loose slats, loose frame connections, or friction between components. Ensure all slats are properly seated and secured to the frame. Tighten all frame connections. If noise persists, try applying a small amount of wax or lubricant to contact points between wood components.
