LEVOLOR Basics Cordless Faux Wood Blinds Instruction Manual

Model: 1049259

1. Safety Information

Please read all instructions carefully before installation and operation. Keep this manual for future reference.

2. Measuring for Installation

Accurate measurements are essential for a proper fit. Always use a metal tape measure for precision, as cloth tape measures can stretch. Do not make any deductions from your measurements.

2.1. Inside Mount Measurement

For an inside mount, the blinds fit within the window frame, offering a clean and integrated look. The finished blind will be 1/2 inch narrower than your ordered width to ensure a true-fit installation.

Image: A diagram illustrating the process of measuring a window for an inside mount blind. It shows horizontal measurements for width at the top, middle, and bottom, and vertical measurements for height at the left, middle, and right, all taken within the window frame. Helpful tips advise against deductions and recommend using a metal tape measure.

  1. Measure Width: Measure the inside width of your window frame at the top, middle, and bottom. Record all three measurements to the nearest 1/8 inch. The shortest of these three measurements is your ordering width.
  2. Measure Height: Measure the inside height of your window frame at the left, middle, and right. Record all three measurements to the nearest 1/8 inch. The longest of these three measurements is your ordering height.
  3. Measure Depth: Measure the depth of your window frame. Note any obstacles like cranks, handles, or tracks that might interfere with the blind's function. Ensure sufficient depth for the blind to operate freely. Refer to product specifications for minimum depth requirements.

2.2. Outside Mount Measurement

An outside mount is used when an inside mount is not feasible or for aesthetic reasons, such as making windows appear taller. The blinds will extend beyond the window frame.

Diagram showing how to measure for outside mount blinds, indicating width and height measurements outside the window frame.

Image: A diagram illustrating the process of measuring a window for an outside mount blind. It shows horizontal measurements for width between the outermost points where the blind will extend, overlapping the window frame by at least 3/4 inch on each side. Vertical measurements for height are taken from the highest point of installation to the sill, with a recommendation to overlap the top by at least 3 inches.

  1. Measure Width: Measure the width between the outermost points where you intend to install your blind. Overlap each side of the window frame by at least 3/4 inch to minimize light gaps. This measurement is your ordering width.
  2. Measure Height: Measure vertically from the highest point where you intend to install your blind to the sill where the bottom will rest. Overlap the top by at least 3 inches when possible. If there is no sill, measure to your desired length, at least 3 inches below the bottom of the window when possible. This measurement is your ordering height.
