Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and safety. Follow these steps carefully.

1. General Wiring Guidelines

  • Power Wire: Connect the 8-gauge power wire from the 8GKIT directly to the positive terminal of the vehicle's battery. Install the AFS fuse holder within 18 inches (45 cm) of the battery.
  • Ground Wire: Connect the 8-gauge ground wire from the 8GKIT to a clean, unpainted metal surface on the vehicle's chassis. Ensure a solid, low-resistance connection.
  • Remote Turn-On Wire: Connect a remote turn-on wire from your head unit's remote output to the amplifier's REM terminal. The LL2BE also provides a 12V output with Signal Sense turn-on.

  • Power Connections: Connect the power, ground, and remote wires to the corresponding terminals on the amplifier.
  • Input Connections: Use the provided RCA cables from the LL2BE Line Output Converter to the amplifier's RCA input terminals. Alternatively, if not using the LL2BE, connect high-level speaker outputs from your head unit to the amplifier's high-level input.
  • Speaker Outputs: Connect your subwoofer(s) to the speaker output terminals. Ensure correct polarity and impedance matching (the SRX600.1V is stable at 1-ohm).
  • Mounting: Securely mount the amplifier in a well-ventilated area, away from direct heat or moisture.

  • Utilize the 100% pure copper wire for all power and ground connections to ensure optimal current delivery.
  • Install the AFS fuse holder with the appropriate fuse rating as close to the battery as possible.
  • Route the RCA cables away from power wires to prevent noise interference.
  • Use the included terminals and zip ties to secure all connections and wiring.

Operating Instructions

SRX600.1V Mono Amplifier Controls

  • Level (Gain): Adjust this control to match the output voltage of your head unit or LL2BE. Start with the gain at minimum and slowly increase until desired volume is achieved without distortion.
  • Bass EQ: Provides a selectable bass boost to enhance low frequencies. Use sparingly to avoid distortion.
  • Subsonic Filter: Filters out extremely low frequencies that are inaudible and can damage subwoofers. Adjust to protect your speakers.
  • Crossover Network: Adjust the low-pass filter (LPF) to control the upper frequency limit of the amplifier's output, ensuring only bass frequencies are sent to the subwoofer.
  • Remote Level Control: Connect the included remote level control to adjust the subwoofer output level from the driver's seat.

LL2BE Line Output Converter Controls

  • Enhance Bass: Adjusts the level of digital bass restoration.
  • Main: Controls the output level of the main RCA outputs.
  • Sub: Controls the output level of the subwoofer RCA outputs.
  • Remote Bass Knob: Provides external control over the subwoofer output level.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the amplifier and LOC with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Connections: Regularly check all power, ground, and signal connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion. Loose connections can lead to poor performance or damage.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the amplifier's heatsink remains clear of obstructions to allow for proper cooling.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No Power / Amplifier not turning on Blown fuse, loose power/ground/remote wire, faulty remote turn-on signal. Check fuse at battery and on amplifier. Verify all power, ground, and remote connections are secure. Test remote turn-on signal from head unit or LL2BE.
No Sound Loose RCA cables, incorrect gain setting, speaker wires disconnected, amplifier in protect mode. Check RCA connections. Adjust gain. Verify speaker wire connections. Check amplifier status indicator for protect mode.
Distorted Sound Gain set too high, improper crossover/bass boost settings, poor ground connection, damaged speaker. Reduce gain. Adjust crossover and bass boost settings. Ensure a solid ground connection. Inspect speakers for damage.
Engine Noise / Whining Poor ground, RCA cables routed near power wires, faulty head unit. Improve ground connection. Reroute RCA cables away from power wires. Consider a ground loop isolator if necessary.
