2. Adjusting the Bracelet

Operating Your Watch
Water Resistance
Your Timex Waterbury watch is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet). This rating means the watch is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming. It is not suitable for diving, snorkeling, or prolonged water activities. Avoid operating the crown while the watch is wet or submerged.
Luminant Hands
The watch features luminant hands for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions. These hands absorb light and glow in the dark after exposure to a light source.
Maintenance
Cleaning
To maintain the appearance of your stainless steel watch, wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For more thorough cleaning, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
Battery Replacement
The watch is powered by a quartz movement and requires a battery. When the watch stops or the second hand begins to jump erratically (indicating a low battery), it is time for a replacement. It is highly recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.
Storage
When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keeping it in its original box or a watch case can help protect it from dust and scratches.
Troubleshooting
- Watch Not Running:
Ensure the crown is fully pushed into position 1. If the watch still does not run, the battery may need replacement. Refer to the "Battery Replacement" section.
- Date/Day Not Changing Correctly:
The date and day change mechanism is typically linked to a 24-hour cycle. If the date changes at noon instead of midnight, you may have set the time incorrectly for AM/PM. Advance the time by 12 hours.
- Condensation Under Crystal:
If condensation appears under the watch crystal, it indicates a potential breach in water resistance. Avoid further contact with water and seek professional service immediately.
