3.2 Connecting the Device
- Connect the power adapter to the D5-310 and then to a power outlet.
- Connect the USB-C cable to the D5-310's USB-C port.
- Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a compatible USB port on your computer (USB-C or USB-A with adapter).
- Press the power button on the front of the D5-310 to turn it on.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 RAID Configuration
The D5-310 supports hardware RAID modes: Single, JBOD, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 10. RAID configuration is performed using the rotary selector and reset button on the rear panel.
- Ensure the device is powered off.
- Locate the RAID mode selector and the reset button on the rear of the enclosure.
- Use a small tool (e.g., a pen tip) to rotate the selector to your desired RAID mode (e.g., RAID 5, RAID 0, RAID 1/10, Single).
- Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds until you hear a beep, then release.
- Power on the device. The new RAID configuration will be applied.
Note: Configuring RAID modes will erase all data on the installed drives. Back up any important data before proceeding.

6.2 Common Issues and Solutions
- Device not recognized: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the D5-310 and your computer. Try a different USB port or cable. Verify the device is powered on.
- Drives not appearing: Check if drives are properly installed in their bays. For new drives, they may need to be initialized, partitioned, and formatted through your operating system's disk management utility.
- RAID configuration issues: Ensure the RAID selector is set correctly and the reset button procedure was followed. Remember that changing RAID modes will erase data.
- Slow transfer speeds: Ensure you are using a USB 3.1 Gen 1 (or higher) compatible port on your computer. Check the cable for damage.
