4. Setup

Before using your Ollygrin coffee grinder for the first time, please follow these steps:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present.
  2. Clean: Wash the bean hopper, grounds container, and their lids in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. The main unit with the motor should be wiped with a damp cloth.
  3. Assemble: Place the grounds container into its designated slot on the grinder base. Ensure the bean hopper is securely placed and locked onto the top of the grinder.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to grind your coffee beans:

  1. Add Beans: Open the bean hopper lid and pour whole coffee beans into the hopper. Ensure the lid is securely closed. The hopper holds up to 4.59oz of coffee beans.
  2. Select Grind Size: Rotate the upper part of the bean hopper to select your desired grind size from the 30 available settings. Options range from fine (for Espresso) to coarse (for French Press). Refer to Image 5.1 for guidance.
  3. Select Quantity: Rotate the quantity selection dial on the front of the grinder to choose the number of cups you wish to grind, from 2 to 12 cups.
  4. Start Grinding: Press the power button to begin grinding. The grinder will automatically stop once the selected quantity has been processed.
  5. Collect Grounds: Carefully remove the grounds container from the base and use the fresh grounds for brewing.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your grinder.

  1. Unplug: Always unplug the grinder from the power outlet before cleaning.
  2. Remove Hopper: Turn the bean hopper to the unlock position and lift it off the base.
  3. Remove Upper Burr: Gently lift and twist the upper conical burr to remove it.
  4. Clean Burrs: Use the provided cleaning brush to remove any coffee grounds from both the upper and lower conical burrs.
  5. Clean Hopper & Container: Wash the bean hopper, grounds container, and their lids with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  6. Clean Base: Wipe the exterior of the motor base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water.
  7. Reassemble: Once all parts are dry, reinsert the upper burr, ensuring it clicks into place. Reattach the bean hopper and lock it into position.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Ollygrin coffee grinder, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
