3. Package Contents

4. Physical Description

Familiarize yourself with the camera's components:

  • Lens: Captures video footage.
  • Status LED: Indicates camera status (e.g., solid blue for connected, flashing red for network error).
  • Microphone: For audio input and two-way communication.
  • Speaker: For audio output and two-way communication.
  • Reset Button: Used to restore factory settings (typically located under the lens or on the base).
  • Power Port: Connects to the power adapter.
  • MicroSD Card Slot: For local video storage (supports up to 128GB, card not included).

5. Setup

5.1 Powering On

  1. Connect the power adapter to the camera's power port.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
  3. The camera will power on, and the status LED will begin to flash.

5.2 App Download and Account Creation

  1. Download the Tenda app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Open the app and create a new account, or log in if you already have one.

5.3 Adding the Camera to the App

  1. In the Tenda app, tap the "+" icon to add a new device.
  2. Select your camera model (CP3 Pro or CP3) from the list.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the camera to your Wi-Fi network. Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz.
  4. Scan the QR code displayed on your phone with the camera lens.
  5. Once connected, the camera's status LED will turn solid blue.

5.4 Installation (Optional)

The camera can be placed on a flat surface or mounted to a ceiling.

Desktop Placement:

Simply place the camera on a stable, flat surface with a clear view of the area you wish to monitor.

Ceiling Mounting:

  1. Use the mounting template (if provided) to mark the screw positions on the ceiling.
  2. Drill holes and insert the wall plugs.
  3. Secure the mounting bracket to the ceiling using the provided screws.
  4. Attach the camera to the mounting bracket by twisting it until it locks into place.
  5. Adjust the camera's orientation in the app if necessary (image flip).

6. Operating the Camera

6.1 Live View

Open the Tenda app and select your camera to view the live video feed. You can pinch to zoom and pan/tilt the camera using the on-screen controls.

6.2 Pan and Tilt Control

On the live view screen, swipe your finger across the video feed or use the directional controls to remotely adjust the camera's viewing angle (355° horizontal, 155° vertical).

6.3 Two-Way Audio

Tap the microphone icon in the live view to speak through the camera's speaker. Tap the speaker icon to listen to audio from the camera's surroundings.

6.4 Recording and Playback

The camera supports continuous recording or event-triggered recording to a microSD card (not included) or cloud storage (subscription may be required). To view recorded footage, access the playback section in the app and select the desired date and time.

6.5 Motion Detection and Alerts

Configure motion detection settings in the app. You can adjust sensitivity, set detection zones, and schedule alert times. When motion is detected, the camera will send a notification to your phone.

6.6 Night Vision

The camera automatically switches to infrared night vision mode in low-light conditions, providing clear black-and-white video footage.

6.7 Privacy Mode

If available, activate privacy mode through the app to physically rotate the camera lens into its housing, temporarily disabling video and audio recording for privacy.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Camera

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and body. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the device.

7.2 Firmware Updates

Regularly check for firmware updates in the Tenda app. Keeping your camera's firmware up-to-date ensures optimal performance, security, and access to new features.

7.3 Resetting the Camera

If you encounter persistent issues or wish to reconfigure the camera, you can perform a factory reset. Locate the reset button (often a small pinhole) and press and hold it for approximately 5-10 seconds until the status LED changes, indicating a reset.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Camera not powering on: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the camera and a working power outlet. Try a different outlet.
  • Camera not connecting to Wi-Fi:
    • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz.
    • Check your Wi-Fi password for accuracy.
    • Move the camera closer to your Wi-Fi router.
    • Reset the camera and try the setup process again.
  • Poor video quality:
    • Check your internet connection speed.
    • Ensure the camera lens is clean.
    • Adjust the video quality settings in the app.
  • Motion detection not working:
    • Verify that motion detection is enabled in the app.
    • Adjust the sensitivity settings.
    • Check the detection zone settings.
  • Two-way audio issues:
    • Ensure your phone's microphone and speaker are enabled for the Tenda app.
    • Check the volume settings in the app.
