6. Compatibility and Display Modes

The KVM switch is compatible with various operating systems and supports different display configurations:

  • Operating Systems: Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Chrome OS.
  • Devices: Desktop PCs, Laptops, TV boxes.
  • Display Modes: Supports both Mirror Mode and Extended Mode for Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS.
  • Mac OS Limitation: Due to the lack of Multi-Stream Transport (MST) support on some Mac M1/M2 models, Mac OS is generally limited to Mirror Mode and cannot extend two different screens.

7. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your KVM switch, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Keep the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
  • Avoid exposing the KVM switch to moisture or liquids.
  • Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the device to prevent overheating.
  • Periodically check all cable connections to ensure they are secure.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your MLEEDA KVM switch, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  1. No Display or Incorrect Resolution:
    • Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected to both the KVM switch and your monitors/PCs.
    • Verify that your laptop's USB-C port supports DP Alt Mode for video output. Not all USB-C ports have this capability.
    • Check your display settings on both computers to ensure the correct resolution and refresh rate are selected (up to 4K@60Hz).
    • If using Mac OS, remember that it may be limited to mirror mode due to lack of MST support.
    • Try connecting monitors directly to your PC/laptop to confirm they function correctly without the KVM.
  2. USB Peripherals Not Working or Disconnecting:
    • Ensure the USB 3.0 cable (for desktop) and USB-C cable (for laptop) are properly connected to the KVM switch and your computers.
    • Try connecting the problematic USB device to a different USB 3.0 port on the KVM switch.
    • If using a wireless keyboard/mouse, ensure the receiver is plugged directly into the KVM switch.
    • Some high-power USB devices may require additional power. Ensure the 12V power adapter is connected to the KVM switch.
    • If a mouse disconnects after switching, try reconnecting it or restarting the KVM switch.
  3. Laptop Not Charging or Charging Slowly:
    • Confirm your laptop's USB-C port supports Power Delivery (PD).
    • The KVM switch provides up to 80W PD. If your laptop requires higher wattage, it may charge slowly or not at all. Use your laptop's original power adapter if necessary.
    • Ensure the 12V power adapter is connected to the KVM switch for stable operation and PD charging.
  4. KVM Switch Not Responding:
    • Check if the 12V power adapter is securely connected and the KVM switch is powered on.
    • Try power cycling the KVM switch (unplug and replug the power adapter).
    • Ensure the wired remote is properly connected if you are using it for switching.
  5. Image Quality Issues (Blurry, Contrast Problems):
    • Check all HDMI cable connections. Try using different, high-quality HDMI cables.
    • Ensure your monitor settings are correctly configured.
    • Restart the KVM switch and both connected computers.
