Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the toaster and all packaging materials.
- Placement: Place the toaster on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials like curtains or walls. Ensure adequate ventilation around the toaster.
- First Use (Burn-off): Before toasting food for the first time, operate the toaster without bread on the highest setting (6) for a few minutes. This will burn off any manufacturing residues and eliminate initial odors. It is normal for some smoke or odor to be present during this process. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
- Cord Management: Unwind the power cord from the cord wrap at the bottom of the toaster. Plug the toaster into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.
Operating Instructions
- Insert Bread: Place one slice of bread into each toasting slot. The toaster's self-centering guides will automatically adjust to hold the bread securely. This toaster accommodates bread slices up to 4 inches long and 0.55 inches thick.
- Select Shade: Turn the Shade Control Dial to your desired browning level. Setting '1' is for the lightest toast, and '6' is for the darkest. Experiment to find your preferred setting.
- Start Toasting: Press the Carriage Lever down until it locks into place. The toasting cycle will begin, and the indicator light (if present) will illuminate.
- Cancel Toasting: To stop the toasting cycle at any time, press the 'CANCEL' button. The carriage lever will pop up, and the toast will be ejected.
- Remove Toast: Once the toasting cycle is complete, the toast will automatically pop up. Carefully remove the toast from the slots. If the toast is small, you may gently lift the carriage lever further up to raise the toast for easier removal.

- Storage: When not in use, ensure the toaster is clean and dry. You can wrap the cord around the cord wrap at the bottom for neat storage. Store in a cool, dry place.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your toaster, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Toaster does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outlet not working; circuit breaker tripped. | Ensure toaster is securely plugged in. Test the outlet with another appliance. Check your household circuit breaker. |
| Toast is too light/dark. | Shade control setting is incorrect. | Adjust the Shade Control Dial to a higher number for darker toast or a lower number for lighter toast. |
| Toast gets stuck. | Bread slice is too thick or irregularly shaped; crumbs accumulated. | Ensure bread fits properly. Do not force bread into slots. Unplug and cool, then remove any stuck food carefully (do not use metal utensils). Clean the crumb tray. |
| Smoke or burning smell. | Crumbs accumulated; food stuck inside; first use burn-off. | Press 'CANCEL' immediately. Unplug and allow to cool. Clean the crumb tray. If it's the first use, this is normal. If persistent, contact customer support. |
