Setup and Fitting
1. Sizing and Initial Fit
Ensure you have selected the correct helmet size. Refer to the size chart below:
| Brand Size | Head Circumference (in) | Hat Size (in) |
|---|---|---|
| XS / S | 20.9 - 22.1 | 6.6 - 7 |
| M / L | 22.4 - 23.2 | 7.1 - 7.3 |
| XL / 2XL | 23.6 - 24.8 | 7.5 - 7.9 |
The helmet should fit snugly and comfortably, without excessive pressure points. It should not move freely when you shake your head.
2. Adjusting the Retention System
The FLOWLINE SE Helmet features a full 360-degree fit retention system with 3-way rear height adjustment. Use the dial at the back of the helmet to tighten or loosen the fit around your head. Adjust the rear height mechanism to position the retention system comfortably at the base of your skull.
3. Securing the Chin Strap
The helmet is equipped with a Premium 3D Fidlock magnetic buckle system.
- Bring the two parts of the buckle together; the magnets will assist in alignment and connection.
- Adjust the strap tension so that the helmet is held firmly in place, but without causing discomfort. You should be able to fit one or two fingers between the strap and your chin.
- Ensure the strap dividers are positioned just below your ears.
4. Visor Adjustment
The 3-way adjustable screwless visor can be moved up or down to your preferred position for optimal vision and sun protection. Simply push or pull the visor to adjust its angle.

Operation and Use
The Troy Lee Designs FLOWLINE SE Helmet is specifically designed for cycling, particularly mountain biking. Once properly fitted, the helmet provides protection and comfort during your rides.
MIPS Technology
The integrated MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) B-Series is designed to add protection in helmets. It is a low-friction layer inside the helmet, which allows a multi-directional movement of 10-15mm on certain angled impacts, intended to help reduce rotational force to the head. This system works in conjunction with the helmet's EPS liner to enhance overall impact protection.

Care and Maintenance
Cleaning the Helmet
- Use only mild soap and water to clean the helmet's exterior shell and straps.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the helmet's materials and compromise its protective properties.
- Wipe the helmet with a soft, damp cloth and allow it to air dry completely.
Liner Care
The anti-microbial quick-dry premium liner can be removed for cleaning. Hand wash the liner with mild soap and cool water, then air dry. Ensure the liner is completely dry before reinserting it into the helmet.
Storage
Store your helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Do not store it near heat sources or in areas where it might be exposed to chemicals.
Troubleshooting
Helmet Feels Loose or Uncomfortable
- Re-adjust the retention system dial at the back of the helmet for a snug fit.
- Check the chin strap tension and ensure the strap dividers are correctly positioned.
- If the helmet still feels loose or causes pressure points, it may be the wrong size. Refer to the size chart in the "Setup and Fitting" section.
Damage and Replacement
- Visible Damage: If you notice any cracks, dents, or other visible damage to the shell, EPS liner, or straps, replace the helmet immediately.
- Impact: Even if there is no visible damage, a helmet that has sustained an impact should be replaced. The internal structure may be compromised, reducing its protective capabilities.
- Aging: Helmets have a limited lifespan. Consult Troy Lee Designs' recommendations for helmet replacement intervals, typically every 3-5 years, depending on use and care.
