4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully unpack the UPS and its accessories. Inspect for any shipping damage. Retain the packaging for future use or return.

4.2 Placement

Place the UPS in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or moisture. Ensure sufficient clearance around the unit for proper airflow.

4.3 Configuration (Tower/Rack-Mount)

The GXE3-1000IRT2UXL can be deployed as a tower unit using the included stands or installed in a standard 19-inch rack using an optional rack-mount kit (sold separately). Follow the instructions provided with the rack-mount kit for rack installation.

4.4 Electrical Connections

  1. Input Power: Connect the UPS input power cord to a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet provides the correct voltage (230V) and current capacity.
  2. Output Devices: Connect your critical IT equipment (servers, networking devices, etc.) to the IEC C13 output receptacles on the rear of the UPS. Do not overload the UPS beyond its rated capacity (900W).
  3. Communication Ports: For monitoring and management, connect the appropriate communication cables (USB, RS-232, or optional network card) to your computer or network.

4.5 Initial Power-Up

After all connections are secure, press the power button on the front panel to turn on the UPS. The LCD display will illuminate, and the UPS will perform a self-test. Allow the batteries to charge for at least 4 hours before connecting critical loads for optimal runtime.
