1. Introduction

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Physical Connection

  1. Connect the integrated USB cable from the KCEVE adapter to an available USB-A or USB-C port on your computer.
  2. Connect up to four HDMI cables from your monitors to the HDMI output ports (Monitor 1, Monitor 2, Monitor 3, Monitor 4) on the KCEVE adapter.
  3. If display stability issues occur, connect an external 5V DC power adapter (not included) to the DC/5V port on the adapter.

3.2 Driver Installation

Driver installation is mandatory for the KCEVE USB to 4 HDMI Adapter to function correctly. Follow these steps:

  1. Connect the HDMI adapter to your computer.
  2. Navigate to "My Computer" or "This PC". The adapter will appear as a USB flash drive (e.g., "C:D:").
  3. Double-click the adapter's drive icon. The operating system will automatically initiate the driver installation.
  4. Once the installation is complete, restart your computer.

4. Operating Modes

4.1 Mirror Mode (AABCD)

In Mirror Mode, one of the four external screens can be selected to mirror the content of your laptop's main screen (A), while the other connected screens (B, C, D) can extend the display. This is useful for presentations or sharing content on a larger screen while maintaining an extended workspace.

4.2 Extend Mode (ABCDE)

In Extend Mode, you can create a total of five different displays (including your laptop's screen). Each of the four external monitors (B, C, D, E) will function as an independent extended display, allowing you to spread applications across multiple screens for maximum workspace and productivity.

4.3 One-Key Black Screen Function

The adapter includes a dedicated button labeled "Click show" (or similar) that allows you to instantly black out all connected external displays. This feature is useful for maintaining privacy, taking a quick break, or focusing solely on your primary screen without disconnecting cables.

5. Compatibility

The KCEVE USB to 4 HDMI Adapter offers broad compatibility with various operating systems and devices:

  • Windows: Supports Windows 11, 10, 7, and 8.1.
  • Mac OS: Compatible with Mac OS 10.10 or higher, including M1/M2 MacBooks.

Important Notes:

  • For Windows, ensure your computer's CPU is 11th generation or newer. Older CPUs are not supported.

  • Unsupported Operating Systems: ChromeOS, Linux, and Unix are NOT supported.
  • This adapter cannot play HDCP-protected content on streaming services like Netflix or Hulu.

  • No Display/Flickering:
    • Ensure the driver is correctly installed and your computer has been restarted.
    • Verify all HDMI cables are securely connected to both the adapter and the monitors.
    • Connect an external 5V DC power adapter to the KCEVE adapter for stable power delivery.
    • Check your computer's display settings to ensure monitors are detected and configured for Mirror or Extend mode.
  • Driver Installation Issues:
    • Temporarily disable anti-virus software during driver installation.
    • Ensure you are running a supported operating system (Windows 11/10/7/8.1, Mac OS 10.10+, Android 7.1+).
    • For Windows, confirm your CPU is 11th generation or newer.
  • Mac OS Specific Issues:
    • If displays are not working after driver installation, check System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Screen Recording and ensure the DisplayLink Manager (or similar driver component) is authorized. Restart your Mac after making changes.
  • Content Playback Restrictions:
    • The adapter does not support HDCP-protected content. This means you cannot stream content from platforms like Netflix or Hulu to external monitors via this adapter.
  • Overheating:
    • Ensure the adapter is placed in a well-ventilated area.
    • If using for extended periods with multiple displays, connecting the optional 5V DC power supply can help manage heat and stabilize performance.
