Watch Components and Button Functions

- A (Adjust): Used to enter and exit setting modes, and to reset values.
- B (Mode): Cycles through the watch's various modes (Timekeeping, Alarm, Stopwatch, Countdown Timer).
- C (Start/Stop): Used to start/stop the stopwatch or countdown timer, and to change selected values in setting modes.
- D (Light): Activates the electro-luminescent backlight.
Initial Setup: Setting Time and Date
- In the Timekeeping Mode, hold down the A (Adjust) button until the seconds digits start to flash, indicating the setting screen.
- Press the B (Mode) button to cycle through the settings: Seconds → Hour → Minutes → Year → Month → Day.
- Use the C (Start/Stop) button to increase the flashing digit or setting. For seconds, pressing C while the seconds are between 30 and 59 resets them to 00 and adds 1 to the minutes. If the seconds are between 00 and 29, the minutes are unchanged.
- Once all settings are correct, press the A (Adjust) button to exit the setting screen.

Operating Modes
Press the B (Mode) button to navigate through the watch's modes in the following sequence:
Timekeeping Mode → Alarm Mode → Stopwatch Mode → Countdown Timer Mode
Alarm Mode
The watch features a daily alarm. When the alarm is turned on, it sounds for 20 seconds at the preset time each day. The Hourly Time Signal causes the watch to beep every hour on the hour.
- From Timekeeping Mode, press B (Mode) to enter Alarm Mode.
- Hold down the A (Adjust) button until the hour digits start to flash.
- Press B (Mode) to move the flashing between hour and minute digits.
- Use C (Start/Stop) to change the flashing digits.
- Press A (Adjust) to exit the setting screen.
- To turn the alarm or hourly time signal ON/OFF, press C (Start/Stop) in Alarm Mode (without holding A).
Stopwatch Mode
The stopwatch measures elapsed time, split times, and two finishes. The display range is 23 hours, 59 minutes, 59.99 seconds.
- From Timekeeping Mode, press B (Mode) twice to enter Stopwatch Mode.
- Press C (Start/Stop) to start the stopwatch.
- Press C (Start/Stop) again to stop it.
- Press A (Adjust) to reset the stopwatch to all zeros.
- For split times, press A (Adjust) while the stopwatch is running to display the split time. Press A (Adjust) again to return to elapsed time measurement.
Countdown Timer Mode
The countdown timer can be set for a period of 1 second to 24 hours. An alarm sounds when the countdown reaches zero.
- From Timekeeping Mode, press B (Mode) three times to enter Countdown Timer Mode.
- Hold down the A (Adjust) button until the hour digits start to flash.
- Press B (Mode) to move the flashing between hour and minute digits.
- Use C (Start/Stop) to change the flashing digits.
- Press A (Adjust) to exit the setting screen.
- Press C (Start/Stop) to start the countdown. Press again to pause, and once more to resume.
- To reset the countdown to its start time, press A (Adjust) while the countdown is paused.
Illumination
The electro-luminescent panel provides illumination for the entire display for easy reading in the dark.
- Press the D (Light) button to illuminate the display.
- The illumination duration is approximately 1.5 seconds.

Water Resistance
Your Casio G-Shock DW-5600RL-1DR watch is rated for 20 BAR (200 meters) water resistance. This means it is suitable for:
