4. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your SODOLA Web Managed Switch.

4.1 Physical Installation

  1. Placement: Choose a stable, dry, and well-ventilated location for the switch. Ensure adequate space around the device for airflow.
  2. Magnetic Mounting (Optional): If mounting to a metal surface, attach the four magnetic feet to the bottom of the switch by screwing them into the designated holes.

  3. Power Connection: Connect the provided power cord to the DC 12V input port on the switch and then to a power outlet. The PWR indicator should light up.
  4. Network Connections:
    • Connect your network devices (computers, NAS, routers, etc.) to the 2.5G RJ45 ports (1-8) using Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat7 Ethernet cables.
    • For 10G fiber optic connections, insert a compatible SFP+ module (not included) into the 10G SFP+ slot (Port 9) and connect your fiber cable.

4.2 Initial Web Management Access

To access the web management interface for configuration:

  1. Ensure your computer is connected to one of the switch's RJ45 ports.
  2. Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge).
  3. Enter the default IP address of the switch in the browser's address bar: 192.168.2.1
  4. When prompted, enter the default login credentials:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: admin

    Note: It is highly recommended to change the default password after your first login for security purposes.

  5. You will now have access to the switch's web management interface to configure advanced settings.
