Important Safety Information

Assembly Instructions (Setup)

Follow these steps carefully for proper assembly. It is recommended to have two people for assembly.

1. Prepare the Workspace: Clear a spacious area and lay down a blanket or cardboard to protect the furniture pieces and your floor.
2. Identify Parts: Unpack all components and identify them using the provided parts list and labels.
3. Assemble the Base: Attach the bottom panel (C) to the side panels (A) using the designated screws and dowels from the hardware kit (J). Ensure cam locks are tightened securely.
4. Install Fixed Shelves: Insert the fixed shelves (D) into the pre-drilled holes on the side panels (A) and secure them with the appropriate fasteners.
5. Attach Back Panels: Carefully align and attach the back panels (F) to the rear of the assembled frame using small nails or screws provided. Ensure the unit is square.
6. Install Top Panel: Secure the top panel (B) to the side panels (A) using screws and cam locks.
7. Attach Doors: Mount the door hinges (H) to the doors (G) and then attach the doors to the designated section of the bookcase. Adjust hinges for proper alignment. Install door handles (I).
8. Insert Adjustable Shelves: Place the shelf pins into the desired holes for the adjustable shelves (E). Carefully place the adjustable shelves onto the pins.
9. Secure with Anti-Tip Kit: Attach the anti-tip kit (J) to the top rear of the bookcase and securely fasten it to a wall stud using appropriate wall anchors. This step is crucial for safety.
10. Final Check: Ensure all connections are tight and the bookcase is stable.

Operating Instructions

Adjusting Shelves

The VASAGLE Custos Collection LBC402W01 Bookcase features adjustable shelves (E) to accommodate items of various heights. The 1st, 4th, and 5th shelves (counting from the bottom) are adjustable up to 3cm up and down from their default positions.

1. Empty the shelf you wish to adjust.
2. Carefully lift the shelf off its support pins.
3. Remove the shelf pins from their current holes.
4. Insert the shelf pins into the desired new set of holes. Ensure pins are inserted at the same height on both sides.
5. Place the shelf back onto the pins, ensuring it is level and secure.

Using the Doors

The lower section of the bookcase includes two doors for concealed storage. Gently open and close the doors using the handles. Avoid forcing the doors or hanging heavy items on them.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish. Dry immediately with a clean cloth.
• Dusting: Regularly dust with a dry, soft cloth to prevent buildup.
• Hardware Check: Periodically check all screws, bolts, and fasteners to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten as necessary to maintain stability.
• Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading or discoloration.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Doors do not align properly or rub against the frame.
