4. Setup and Assembly
4.1. Unfolding the Tripod and Adjusting Leg Angles
To unfold the tripod, release the leg angle adjustment locks located at the top of each leg. Extend the legs to your desired angle. The legs can be set to three different angles by pushing the lever down and pulling the leg out to the desired position. Once set, ensure the locks are engaged for stability.

The 5-section legs feature twist locks. To extend a leg section, twist the lock counter-clockwise to loosen, pull the section out, and then twist clockwise to tighten and secure it. Repeat for all sections and legs until the desired height is achieved.
4.2. Attaching the Camera with Quick Release Plate
The FPH-42QP ball head includes an RZ-3 Quick Release plate. Attach the quick release plate to the bottom of your camera by screwing the 1/4" screw into the camera's tripod socket. Ensure it is securely tightened.
To mount the camera onto the ball head, align the quick release plate with the clamp on the ball head and push it in until it clicks securely into place. To remove, press the release lever on the clamp.

4.3. Monopod Conversion
One of the tripod legs is removable and can be converted into a monopod. To do this:
Unscrew the designated leg from the tripod body.
Remove the ball head from the center column by unscrewing it.
Attach the ball head to the top of the removed leg.
For extended height, the center column can also be attached to the monopod leg.

4.4. Reversible Center Column for Low-Angle Shots
For extremely low-angle photography, the center column can be reversed. Unscrew the center column, flip it upside down, and reinsert it into the tripod. This allows the camera to be mounted closer to the ground.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Adjusting the Ball Head (FPH-42QP)
The FPH-42QP ball head allows for flexible camera positioning. Use the main locking knob to loosen or tighten the ball for tilting and panning. The separate panning base knob allows for 360° rotation for panoramic shots without affecting the ball's tilt. The ball head also features a cutaway for vertical shooting.
A built-in bubble level assists in achieving a perfectly level horizon for your shots.
5.2. Using the Removable Weight Hook
For increased stability in windy conditions or when using heavy equipment, attach a counterweight (e.g., a camera bag) to the removable hook located at the bottom of the center column.

6. Maintenance
Cleaning: Wipe down the tripod with a soft, damp cloth after each use, especially after exposure to sand, dirt, or saltwater. Do not use harsh chemicals.
Lubrication: Periodically check leg locks and moving parts for smooth operation. If necessary, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the twist locks. Avoid oil-based lubricants.
Storage: Store the tripod in its carrying bag in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Inspection: Regularly inspect all screws, bolts, and connections to ensure they are tight. Do not overtighten.
7. Troubleshooting
Tripod Instability: Ensure all leg sections are fully extended and twist locks are securely tightened. Verify that the leg angle adjustment locks are properly engaged. Ensure the quick release plate is firmly attached to both the camera and the ball head.
Stiff Leg Locks: If leg locks become stiff, clean them thoroughly to remove any accumulated dirt or debris. A small amount of silicone lubricant may be applied if needed.
Ball Head Movement Issues: If the ball head does not move smoothly or does not lock securely, check that the main locking knob is properly adjusted. Clean any visible debris from the ball head mechanism.
Camera Not Level: Use the built-in bubble level on the ball head to adjust the tripod and camera until level. Ensure the quick release plate is mounted straight on the camera.
