3.2. Manual Setup (via Web Browser)

If your router does not have a WPS button or you prefer manual configuration, follow these steps:

  1. Connect: Plug the extender into an electrical outlet. On your computer or mobile device, connect to the extender's default Wi-Fi network (e.g., "AOOEPU_Ext"). No password is required initially.
  2. Access Web Interface: Open a web browser and enter the default IP address (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) or the setup URL provided in the quick start guide (e.g., extender.local).
  3. Login: Enter the default username and password (usually "admin" for both).
  4. Select Mode: Choose your desired operating mode (Repeater, AP, or Router).
  5. Configure: Follow the on-screen instructions to select your existing Wi-Fi network (for Repeater mode) or set up a new network (for AP/Router mode). Enter necessary passwords.
  6. Save & Reboot: Save your settings and allow the extender to reboot. The indicator lights will confirm a successful connection.

4. Operating Modes

The AOOEPU WiFi Extender supports three primary operating modes:

4.1. Repeater Mode

In Repeater Mode, the extender wirelessly connects to your existing router and amplifies its signal, extending coverage to areas with weak or no Wi-Fi. This is the most common mode for eliminating dead zones.

4.2. AP (Access Point) Mode

In AP Mode, the extender connects to your router via an Ethernet cable and transforms your wired network connection into a wireless access point. This is ideal for adding Wi-Fi capability to a wired-only network.

4.3. Router Mode

In Router Mode, the extender acts as a primary router, connecting directly to your modem via an Ethernet cable to create a new wireless network. This mode is suitable if you do not have an existing router.
