Thank you for purchasing the Sunbeam FlexSteam 2-in-1 Iron & Steamer. This versatile appliance is designed to provide efficient and fast steaming and ironing for wrinkle-free results. With its 1200 watts of power, rotating head, and non-stick soleplate, it offers both horizontal ironing and vertical steaming capabilities. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

• Read all instructions before using this product.
• Use appliance only for its intended use.
• To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
• Always turn the appliance OFF before plugging or unplugging from the outlet. Never pull on the cord to disconnect from the outlet; instead, grasp plug and pull to disconnect.

Setup

1. Unpack: Carefully remove the iron/steamer and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth to remove any manufacturing residue.
3. Fill Water Tank:
   • Ensure the appliance is unplugged.
   • Remove the water tank from the appliance.
   • Using the provided water cup, fill the tank with distilled or demineralized water up to the MAX fill line (110ml capacity). Do not overfill.
   • Securely reinsert the water tank into the appliance.

4. Power Connection: Plug the 8-foot swivel power cord into a standard electrical outlet (120V AC).

Operating Instructions

Heating Up

Once plugged in, the appliance will begin to heat up. The power-ready light will illuminate when the appliance reaches its operating temperature, which typically takes about 25 seconds.

Switching Between Ironing and Steaming Modes

The FlexSteam features a rotating head that allows you to easily switch between horizontal ironing and vertical steaming.

Vertical Steaming

For vertical steaming, ensure the head is in the upright position.

1. Hang the garment on a hanger.
2. Hold the steamer upright, ensuring the steam plate is facing away from you.
3. Press the steam control switch to activate steam.
4. Move the steam plate slowly over the fabric, allowing the steam to penetrate and relax wrinkles.
5. The appliance provides up to 8 minutes of continuous steam on a full tank.

Optional: Attach the fabric brush for enhanced wrinkle removal on heavier fabrics or to remove lint.

Horizontal Ironing

For horizontal ironing, rotate the head to the flat position.

1. Place the garment on a flat, heat-resistant surface (e.g., ironing board).
2. Ensure the steam plate is in the flat position.
3. Press the steam control switch to activate steam, or use without steam for dry ironing.
4. Glide the non-stick soleplate over the fabric to smooth out wrinkles.

Maintenance and Care

Cleaning

• Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
• Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• To clean the soleplate, wipe with a damp cloth. For stubborn residue, a mild non-abrasive cleaner designed for iron soleplates can be used.
• Empty the water tank after each use to prevent mineral buildup.

Storage

• Ensure the appliance is completely cool and dry before storing.
• Empty any remaining water from the tank.
• Store the appliance in its provided storage bag in a cool, dry place.
• Do not wrap the power cord tightly around the appliance; loop it loosely to prevent damage.
