5. Setup

5.1 Attaching the Auxiliary Handle

The auxiliary handle provides additional control and stability during operation. Loosen the handle clamp, slide the handle onto the drill's neck, and tighten it securely in a comfortable position.

5.2 Installing a Drill Bit

  1. Ensure the drill is unplugged from the power source.
  2. Insert the desired drill bit into the chuck jaws.
  3. Use the chuck key to firmly tighten the chuck jaws around the drill bit. Ensure the bit is centered and secure to prevent slippage during operation.
  4. Remove the chuck key from the chuck before plugging in the drill.

5.3 Setting the Depth Gauge

To control drilling depth, insert the depth gauge into the hole on the auxiliary handle. Adjust its position so that the desired drilling depth is achieved when the end of the gauge touches the workpiece. Secure the gauge by tightening the locking screw on the auxiliary handle.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On/Off

Plug the drill into a suitable 220-240V AC power outlet. To start the drill, press the trigger switch. To stop, release the trigger. For continuous operation, press the trigger and then engage the self-locking switch (refer to Figure 6). To disengage, press the trigger again.

6.2 Selecting Drilling Mode (Impact/Drill)

The INGCO ID7118 offers two modes: standard drilling and hammer drilling. Use the mode selector switch located on top of the drill (refer to Figure 3) to choose the appropriate mode:

  • Drilling Mode: For drilling into wood, metal, plastics, and other softer materials.
  • Hammer Drilling Mode: For drilling into masonry, concrete, and other hard materials, combining rotation with a hammering action.

6.3 Adjusting Speed

The drill features variable speed control (0-3000 RPM). The speed can be adjusted by the pressure applied to the trigger switch. For more precise speed setting, use the variable speed control dial (refer to Figure 5) to pre-set the maximum speed.

6.4 Forward/Reverse Rotation

The forward/reverse switch (refer to Figure 7) allows you to change the direction of rotation. Push the switch to the left for forward rotation (drilling) and to the right for reverse rotation (removing screws or freeing jammed bits). Always ensure the drill has come to a complete stop before changing direction.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your tool.

  • Cleaning: Keep the ventilation openings clear and free of dust. Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the tool casing. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Chuck Maintenance: Periodically clean the chuck jaws to ensure proper grip on drill bits.
  • Cord Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord for any signs of damage. If damaged, have it replaced by a qualified technician.
