Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Drphiru V520 OBD2 scanner, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Scanner does not power on. | Loose connection; vehicle's OBD2 port not supplying power; vehicle battery low. | Ensure the cable is securely connected. Check vehicle's fuse for the OBD2 port. Check vehicle battery voltage. Try on another compatible vehicle if possible. |
| "Link Error" or "Communication Error" message. | Incorrect protocol; faulty connection; vehicle not OBD2 compliant. | Verify vehicle is OBD2 compliant (1996 US, 2002 EU, 2008 Asia). Ensure ignition is ON. Check for damaged cable or port. |
| Cannot clear trouble codes. | Ignition not ON; fault is still present; vehicle's ECU prevents clearing. | Ensure ignition is ON. Address the underlying fault first. Some codes may require specific driving cycles to clear. |
| Inaccurate readings or intermittent data. | Loose connection; sensor malfunction in vehicle; software glitch. | Reseat the connection. Check vehicle's sensors. Restart the scanner and vehicle. |
