4. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your WiFi Extender.

4.1. Powering On

  1. Plug the WONLINK WiFi Extender into an electrical outlet near your main router.
  2. Wait for the Power LED to turn solid blue.

4.2. Connection Methods

4.2.1. Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

This is the simplest method if your router supports WPS.

  1. Plug the extender into a power outlet.
  2. Press the WPS button on your main router.
  3. Within two minutes, press the WPS button on the WONLINK Extender.
  4. The Signal LED on the extender will blink during connection and turn solid blue when successfully connected.

4.2.2. Using a Web Browser (Manual Setup)

Use this method if your router does not support WPS or for advanced configuration.

  1. Plug the extender into a power outlet.
  2. On your computer or mobile device, connect to the extender's default Wi-Fi network (e.g., "WONLINK_Extender" or similar, check the label on the device). No password is required initially.
  3. Open a web browser and enter the default IP address (e.g., 192.168.10.1) or domain name (e.g., reapeter.net) provided in the Quick Installation Guide.
  4. Log in using the default username and password (usually "admin" for both).
  5. Follow the on-screen wizard to select your main Wi-Fi network and enter its password.
  6. Configure the extender's network name (SSID) and password. You can choose to keep the same as your main network or create a new one.
  7. Save the settings and wait for the extender to restart.

4.3. Optimal Placement

For best performance, place the extender halfway between your router and the Wi-Fi dead zone. Ensure the Signal LED indicates a good connection (e.g., two or three lights solid blue).

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Connecting Devices

Once the extender is set up, devices can connect to its extended network just like any other Wi-Fi network. Search for the extender's SSID (network name) on your device and enter the password you configured during setup.

6.1. Firmware Updates

6.2. Cleaning

Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols. Ensure the device is unplugged before cleaning.

6.3. Factory Reset

With the extender powered on, use a paperclip or similar pointed object to press and hold the Reset button for approximately 5-10 seconds until the LEDs flash. The device will restart with factory default settings.
