7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your BT60 Battery Tester.
7.1. Device Not Powering On
- Ensure the red and black clamps are correctly connected to the positive and negative terminals of a 12V lead-acid battery, respectively.
- Verify that the battery voltage is at least 5V, as the device requires a minimum voltage to power on.
- Check for any corrosion or poor contact on the battery terminals or the clamps. Clean them if necessary.
7.2. Bluetooth Connection Issues
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone or tablet.
- Make sure the BT60 device is powered on (connected to a battery).
- Ensure you are within the 10-meter Bluetooth range of the device.
- Close and reopen the BT60 App.
- If the app is stuck on "searching for devices" or "connecting," try restarting your phone's Bluetooth or the phone itself.
- Important Note: The BT60 connects via its dedicated app, not directly through your phone's Bluetooth settings. Do not attempt to pair it manually through your phone's Bluetooth device list.
7.3. Inaccurate Test Results
- Ensure the battery clamps are securely and cleanly connected to the battery terminals. Poor contact can lead to inaccurate readings.
- Verify that the correct battery type and CCA rating are entered into the app for the battery being tested.
- Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged before performing a test, especially for battery health assessments.
- Avoid testing a battery immediately after charging or heavy use; allow it to rest for a few minutes.
