2.1 Unpacking the Monitor

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all items listed in the packing list are present and undamaged.

2.2 Assembling the Stand

1. Attach the Base to the Neck: The base provides stability. Slide the base onto the neck connector and secure it with the screw at the bottom of the base. This ensures the monitor remains stable on your desk.
2. Attach the Neck to the Monitor Panel: The neck is responsible for all adjustments. Align the neck with the mounting slot on the back of the monitor. The neck is shaped to fit only one way, ensuring correct installation. Gently slide it into position until it clicks securely.

2.3 Connecting Cables

The Redragon GM27FMU offers versatile connectivity. Connect the power adapter to the monitor and a power outlet. Use the provided DisplayPort (DP) cable for optimal PC gaming performance to achieve the highest refresh rates. For modern gaming consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, use the HDMI 2.1 ports. The monitor also includes USB 3.0 Type-A x 2, USB 3.0 Type-B, and a Type-C (PD 90W) port for connecting peripherals and charging devices.

3.1 Powering On and Initial Settings

Once connected, power on your monitor. The monitor may automatically detect the input source. If not, navigate the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu to select the correct input.

The monitor features a rocker function for OSD navigation. This allows you to adjust various display settings such as brightness, contrast, color temperature, and gaming-specific modes.

5.1 No Power / No Display

• Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the monitor and the power outlet.
• Verify that the power outlet is functional.
• Check if the monitor's power indicator light is on.
• Confirm the correct input source is selected in the OSD menu.

5.2 Image Quality Issues (Blurry, Distorted, Incorrect Colors)

• Ensure the display cable (DisplayPort or HDMI) is securely connected to both the monitor and your computer/console.
• Check your graphics card drivers and update them if necessary.
• Adjust the resolution and refresh rate settings on your computer/console to match the monitor's native resolution (3840x2560) and desired refresh rate (up to 160Hz).
• Navigate the OSD menu to adjust brightness, contrast, and color settings. Consider resetting to factory defaults if custom settings cause issues.

5.3 Local Dimming Blooming

Some users have reported blooming issues when Local Dimming is enabled, particularly at higher settings. If you experience this:

• Access the OSD menu (Advanced Settings > Local Dimming).
• Try setting Local Dimming to "Standard" or "Off" to see if the issue is resolved.
• Ensure your monitor's firmware is up to date. Check the Redragon support website for the latest updates.

5.4 Screen Tearing / Stuttering

• Ensure Adaptive Sync (FreeSync Premium or G-Sync compatibility) is enabled in both the monitor's OSD menu and your graphics card settings.
• Verify that your graphics card supports Adaptive Sync technology.
