Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the inner pot, steamer basket, rice spoon, and measuring cup with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth.
  3. Placement: Place the rice cooker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.
  4. Power Connection: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into the appliance and then into a suitable electrical outlet. The appliance operates on standard household voltage.
  5. First Test Run (Recommended): It is advisable to perform a test run with just water before cooking food. Fill the inner pot with 1.5 liters of water, close the lid, and initiate a cooking cycle. This helps to eliminate any initial manufacturing odors and ensures the unit functions correctly. After the cycle, discard the water and clean the inner pot again.

Operating Instructions

Cooking Rice:

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of rice. One cup typically yields enough cooked rice for one person.
  2. Rinse Rice: Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and results in fluffier rice.
  3. Add Rice to Inner Pot: Place the rinsed rice into the removable inner pot.
  4. Add Water: For best results, use a 1:1 ratio of rice to water (e.g., 1 measuring cup of rice to 1 measuring cup of water). Note: Using significantly more water than a 1:1 ratio may cause the pot to overflow during cooking.
  5. Place Inner Pot: Insert the inner pot into the main unit, ensuring it sits correctly.
  6. Close Lid: Close the lid securely.
  7. Start Cooking: Plug in the appliance. Press the single button or lever down to the "Cook" position. The "Cook" indicator light will illuminate.
  8. Automatic Keep Warm: Once the rice is cooked, the appliance will automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" mode, and the "Keep Warm" indicator light will illuminate. This function maintains the rice at an optimal serving temperature for up to 24 hours. However, for best taste and to prevent rice from drying out or sticking, it is recommended to serve within a few hours.
  9. Serve: Open the lid carefully to avoid steam. Use the provided rice spoon to fluff and serve the rice.

Using the Steamer Function:

  1. Prepare Water: Add water to the inner pot (typically 1-2 cups, depending on steaming time).
  2. Place Food in Steamer Basket: Arrange vegetables, fish, or other items in the plastic steamer basket.
  3. Insert Steamer Basket: Place the steamer basket onto the inner pot.
  4. Close Lid and Start: Close the lid and press the button/lever to "Cook".
  5. Monitor Steaming: Steaming time varies based on the food type and quantity. Monitor the food and remove the steamer basket once done. The unit will switch to "Keep Warm" when the water boils away or the main cooking cycle finishes.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your rice cooker.

  1. Always Unplug: Before cleaning, always unplug the rice cooker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Inner Pot and Steamer Basket: The removable inner pot and steamer basket are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, wash them with warm, soapy water using a soft sponge to protect the ceramic non-stick coating. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Rice Spoon and Measuring Cup: Wash with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry.
  4. Main Unit Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the main unit in water.
  5. Lid and Condensation Collector: The lid has an internal condensation collector. After each use, carefully wipe down the inside of the lid. If your model has a removable condensation collector, empty and clean it regularly. Be mindful of water near the power cord connection point when cleaning the lid area.
