1. Important Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using the KEENSTAR Electric Meat Grinder. Retain this manual for future reference.

  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the voltage matches your power supply. Do not immerse the motor unit in water or other liquids. Always unplug the appliance from the outlet when not in use, before assembling or disassembling parts, and before cleaning.
  • Personal Safety: Keep hands and utensils away from moving parts during operation. Never push food with your hands; always use the provided meat pusher. Keep children away from the appliance.
  • Food Preparation: Avoid grinding meat with bones, large tendons, or skin, as this can damage the machine or cause jamming. Cut meat into small pieces (approximately 1-inch cubes) before feeding into the grinder.
  • Overheat Protection: The appliance is equipped with an automatic built-in circuit breaker to prevent the motor from overheating. If the motor stops due to overheating, unplug the unit and allow it to cool down for at least 30 minutes before resuming operation.
  • Appliance Care: Do not operate the grinder with a damaged cord or plug. Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.

3. Setup and Assembly

Before first use, wash all parts that will come into contact with food thoroughly. Ensure the motor unit is unplugged.

3.1 Assembling the Grinder Head:

  1. Insert the auger (feeding screw) into the grinder head.
  2. Place the cutting blade onto the square shaft of the auger, ensuring the sharp edges face outwards towards the grinding plate.
  3. Select the desired grinding plate (3mm, 5mm, or 7mm) and place it over the cutting blade, aligning the notch on the plate with the pin on the grinder head.
  4. Screw the fixing ring onto the grinder head clockwise until it is securely tightened. Do not overtighten.

3.2 Attaching the Grinder Head to the Motor Unit:

  1. Align the assembled grinder head with the opening on the front of the motor unit.
  2. Insert the grinder head into the motor unit and turn it counter-clockwise until it locks into place. Ensure the locking knob on top of the motor unit is engaged.
  3. Place the feeding tray onto the top of the grinder head.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Preparing Ingredients:

  • Ensure meat is free of bones, large tendons, and excessive fat.
  • Cut meat into small pieces (approximately 1-inch cubes) that can easily fit into the feeding tube.

4.2 Grinding Meat:

  1. Ensure the grinder is properly assembled with the desired grinding plate.
  2. Place a bowl or container under the grinder head to collect the ground meat.
  3. Plug the appliance into a suitable power outlet.
  4. Turn the ON/O/R switch to the 'ON' position.
  5. Place prepared meat into the feeding tray and gently push it down the feeding tube using the meat pusher. Do not force the meat.
  6. After grinding, turn the switch to the 'O' (Off) position and unplug the appliance.

4.3 Using the Sausage Stuffer Attachment:

  1. Assemble the grinder head with the sausage stuffer tube in place of the grinding plate and cutting blade. Secure with the fixing ring.
  2. Prepare your sausage mixture.
  3. Slide the casing onto the sausage stuffer tube, leaving a small overhang.
  4. Turn the grinder to 'ON' and feed the sausage mixture into the tray, guiding the casing as it fills.

4.4 Using the Kubbe Attachment:

  1. Assemble the grinder head with the kubbe attachments in place of the grinding plate and cutting blade. Secure with the fixing ring.
  2. Prepare your kubbe mixture.
  3. Turn the grinder to 'ON' and feed the mixture into the tray. The kubbe attachment will form hollow tubes.

4.5 Reverse Function:

If the grinder becomes clogged during operation, turn the ON/O/R switch to the 'R' (Reverse) position. This will reverse the auger's rotation to help clear the blockage. Once cleared, switch back to 'O' (Off) and then 'ON' to resume grinding.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning and maintenance ensure the longevity and hygienic operation of your meat grinder.

5.1 Disassembly for Cleaning:

  1. Ensure the appliance is unplugged.
  2. Remove the feeding tray.
  3. Unlock and detach the grinder head from the motor unit.
  4. Unscrew the fixing ring, remove the grinding plate, cutting blade, and auger from the grinder head.

5.2 Cleaning Steps:

  • Step 1: Soak all detachable accessories (grinder head, auger, blade, plates, fixing ring, attachments, meat pusher, feeding tray) in warm water with a neutral detergent for a few minutes to loosen any food residue.
  • Step 2: Wash them thoroughly with a clean brush or sponge.
  • Step 3: Rinse all parts under running water to remove soap residue.
  • Step 4: Dry all parts immediately and completely to prevent rust. A wet cloth can be used to wipe the motor unit exterior.

Important Note: The motor unit is NOT dishwasher safe. All other detachable parts are also NOT recommended for dishwasher cleaning to preserve their finish and functionality. Always clean by hand.
