Setup Guide

  1. Connect to Laptop: Plug the integrated USB-C cable from the docking station into a compatible USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 port on your laptop. Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alternate Mode for full functionality.
  2. Diagram showing different USB-C port functionalities and compatibility indicators.

Before connecting, verify your laptop's USB-C port supports full functionality (Data+PD+DisplayPort Alt Mode) for optimal performance. The docking station features indicator lights to confirm compatibility.

  3. Power Connection (Optional but Recommended): For stable operation and laptop charging, connect your laptop's original USB-C power adapter to the 100W USB-C PD port on the docking station. Note that the docking station consumes approximately 13W, leaving up to 87W for laptop charging.
  4. Laptop connected to docking station receiving 87W power from a 100W input.

The USB-C PD port supports up to 100W power input, providing up to 87W pass-through charging to your laptop after the hub's power consumption.

  5. Connect Peripherals: Attach your external monitors, USB devices (keyboard, mouse, flash drives), Ethernet cable, and SD/TF cards to the corresponding ports on the docking station.

Operating Instructions

Display Configurations

The docking station supports various display modes depending on your operating system and laptop's DisplayPort version (DP1.2 or DP1.4).

For Windows Laptops (with DP1.4):

  • Single Display: Connect one monitor to either HDMI (up to 4K@60Hz) or DisplayPort (up to 8K@30Hz / 4K@144Hz).
  • Dual Display: Connect two monitors. Resolution will be dual 4K@60Hz.
  • Triple Display (Extend Mode): Connect three monitors (2x HDMI, 1x DP). Display output will be dual 4K@60Hz and 4K@30Hz. If only two monitors display, connect DP first, then the two HDMI ports.

For macOS Laptops (with DP1.4):

  • Mirror Mode: All external displays will mirror the laptop's screen.
  • Non-Mirror Mode: External displays can show different content from the laptop, but all external displays will mirror each other. macOS does NOT support Extended Mode (MST) where each external monitor shows unique content.

Data Transfer

  • USB 3.0 Ports (3x USB-A, 1x USB-C): Offer super-speed data transfer up to 5Gbps. Ideal for flash drives and external hard drives.
  • USB 2.0 Ports (2x USB-A): Provide 480Mbps data transfer, suitable for connecting peripherals like keyboards and mice without lag.
  • SD/Micro SD Card Readers: Facilitate easy transfer of photos and files from memory cards.

Maintenance and Care

  • Keep the docking station clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or humidity.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. Contact customer support for assistance.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the docking station during prolonged use to prevent overheating.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
No display output / Incorrect resolution
  • Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
  • Check all cable connections (USB-C to laptop, HDMI/DP to monitors).
  • For triple display on Windows, connect DP first, then HDMI ports.
  • For macOS, remember only Mirror Mode or Non-Mirror Mode (external displays mirror each other) is supported, not extended mode across multiple external displays.
  • Ensure you are using direct HDMI to HDMI or DP to DP cables, not adapters.
USB devices not recognized or unstable
  • Ensure the docking station is receiving sufficient power (connect PD charger).
  • Try connecting the device to a different USB port on the hub.
  • For wireless mouse/keyboard, connect receiver to a USB 2.0 port and keep it within 11.8 inches of the mouse/keyboard.
  • Only 1 HDD/SSD can be connected at the same time via the USB-C dongle.
Slow network speed
  • Check your Ethernet cable and router connection.
  • Ensure your network drivers are up to date on your laptop.
Docking station feels warm
  • It is normal for the docking station to generate some heat during operation, especially under heavy load. Ensure adequate ventilation.
