9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Tonnlog V36, please refer to the solutions below:

9.1 Device Not Turning Off or Responding

  • The recorder will not accept commands when charging or connected to a computer. This is normal behavior. Disconnect it first.
  • If unresponsive in other situations, power on the device and then press the Reset button (small pinhole, use a paperclip or thin tool).

9.2 Format Error

  • A format error may occur if the recording duration is less than 5 seconds (e.g., 0-second recording files).
  • Ensure the audio file format is supported. The device supports MP3/WAV recording and WAV/MP3/WMA/OGG/APE/FLAC audio file playback.

9.3 Computer Connection Failure

  • Before connecting, ensure the recorder is powered off and placed steadily without pressing any buttons.
  • Allow sufficient time for the computer to recognize the device, especially with large memory capacities.
  • Use the original USB-C cable. Some cables only support charging, not data transfer. Try another data-transfer-capable USB-C cable if issues persist.
  • Restart your computer or reset the recorder.
  • Try connecting to a different USB port or another computer. For MAC users, try a different USB-C adapter.
  • Ensure your computer has the necessary drivers. Search online for
