Model: LES-S500

1. Important Safety Instructions

Read and understand all instructions before operating this electric chain hoist. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or property damage. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, and hard hats, when operating or working near the hoist.
  • Inspect Before Use: Before each use, inspect the hoist, wire rope, hook, and all components for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction. Do not use if any damage is found.
  • Rated Capacity: Never exceed the rated lifting capacity of 1100 lbs (500 kg). Overloading can cause equipment failure and severe injury.
  • Stable Mounting: Ensure the hoist is securely mounted to a structure capable of supporting the hoist's weight plus the maximum rated load.
  • Clear Work Area: Keep the work area clear of personnel and obstructions during operation. Never stand directly under a suspended load.
  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply matches the hoist's requirements (110V/60Hz). Do not operate with damaged cords or plugs. Disconnect power before performing any maintenance or adjustments.
  • Avoid Shock Loading: Do not jerk or suddenly apply load to the hoist. Lift and lower loads smoothly.
  • Limit Switch: Do not rely solely on the limit switch to stop the hoist. Always monitor the lifting and lowering process.

4. Installation and Setup

Proper installation is critical for the safe and efficient operation of your electric hoist.

4.1 Mounting the Hoist

  • Select a mounting location that is structurally sound and capable of supporting at least 1.5 times the maximum rated load (1100 lbs).
  • Use appropriate fasteners (not included) for your specific mounting surface (e.g., concrete, steel beam). Ensure all bolts are tightened securely.
  • Ensure the hoist is mounted level to prevent uneven wire rope winding and premature wear.

4.2 Connecting Power and Control

  • Connect the wire control unit to the hoist's control port. Ensure the connection is firm and secure.
  • Plug the power cord into a grounded 110V/60Hz electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a circuit breaker.
  • Keep all cords clear of moving parts and potential pinch points.

4.3 Initial Wire Rope Check

After installation, perform an initial check of the wire rope:

  • If the cable rope appears unevenly wound, operate the hoist without a load to fully extend and then retract the wire rope. This will help arrange the steel rope evenly on the drum.
  • Inspect the entire length of the wire rope for kinks, fraying, broken strands, or corrosion. Replace the wire rope if any damage is observed.

5. Operation

Familiarize yourself with the control unit and operating procedures before lifting any loads.

5.1 Control Unit Functions

The wired control unit typically features:

  • UP Button: Press and hold to lift the load.
  • DOWN Button: Press and hold to lower the load.
  • Emergency Stop Button: A prominent red button that immediately cuts power to the hoist when pressed. Use in emergency situations only. Reset by twisting or pulling the button as indicated.

5.2 Lifting and Lowering Procedures

  • Prepare the Load: Ensure the load is properly secured to the hook. If the object is too large or cannot be hung directly, use a suitable webbing or sling around the object and then attach it to the hoist hook.
  • Clear the Area: Confirm that the lifting path is clear of people and obstacles.
  • Lift Slowly: Press the UP button to slowly lift the load a few inches off the ground. Check for balance and secure attachment.
  • Continue Lifting: If stable, continue to lift the load to the desired height. Maintain a safe distance from the load.
  • Lowering: Press the DOWN button to slowly lower the load. Guide the load if necessary, but never use your hands directly on the load while it is moving.
  • Avoid Side Pulling: Do not use the hoist to pull loads horizontally. The hoist is designed for vertical lifting only.

5.3 Safety Features

  • Limit Switch: The hoist is equipped with a limit switch that automatically cuts power when the hook reaches its maximum upper or lower travel limit, preventing over-winding or over-lowering. Do not rely on this as the primary stopping mechanism.
  • Overload Protection: The hoist may have internal overload protection to prevent damage from exceeding its rated capacity. If the hoist stops unexpectedly, check for an overload condition.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Mixizap Electric Chain Hoist.

6.1 Daily/Before Use Inspection

  • Check the wire rope for any signs of wear, fraying, kinks, or corrosion.
  • Inspect the hook for deformation, cracks, or a malfunctioning safety latch.
  • Verify that the control unit buttons function correctly and the emergency stop button operates as intended.
  • Check the power cord and control cord for damage.

6.2 Periodic Maintenance (Monthly/Quarterly)

  • Cleaning: Keep the hoist body and motor free from dust, dirt, and debris. Use a dry cloth or compressed air.
  • Wire Rope Lubrication: Lightly lubricate the wire rope with a suitable wire rope lubricant to prevent corrosion and reduce wear.
  • Fastener Check: Re-tighten all mounting bolts and other fasteners as necessary.
  • Electrical Connections: Inspect all electrical connections for tightness and signs of corrosion.

Note: For internal components or complex repairs, contact qualified service personnel.
