1. Important Safety Instructions

Read all instructions carefully before using the dehumidifier. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or personal injury.

  • This appliance is for indoor residential use only.
  • Always place the dehumidifier on a level, stable surface.
  • Ensure the power supply matches the voltage specified on the rating label.
  • Do not operate the unit with a damaged cord or plug.
  • Keep a minimum distance of 8 inches (20 cm) from walls and furniture to ensure proper airflow.
  • Do not insert objects into the air inlet or outlet.
  • Unplug the unit before cleaning or performing any maintenance.
  • Do not use the dehumidifier in areas where flammable gases or liquids are stored.
  • Keep children and pets away from the unit during operation.

2. Product Overview

The AIRPLUS 80 Pint Dehumidifier is designed to reduce humidity in spaces up to 5000 square feet. It features a smart control panel, multiple operating modes, and flexible drainage options.

2.2 Control Panel

The digital control panel allows for easy adjustment of settings and monitoring of the dehumidifier's status.

  • DRYING (Dry Clothes Mode): Activates a continuous dehumidification mode suitable for drying laundry.
  • IONIZER Mode: Engages the negative ion function for air purification.
  • TIMER: Sets the auto on/off time (1-24 hours).
  • HUMIDITY: Adjusts the desired humidity level (30% to 80% RH).
  • SPEED (Airflow Setting): Selects fan speed (Low, Medium, High).
  • ON/OFF: Powers the unit on or off.
  • FULL Indicator: Illuminates when the water tank is full.
  • DEFROST Indicator: Illuminates when the unit is in defrost mode.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Remove all packaging materials from the dehumidifier.
  2. Place the unit upright on a firm, level surface in the desired location (e.g., basement, garage, living room).
  3. Ensure there is at least 8 inches (20 cm) of clear space around the air inlet and outlet for optimal performance.

3.2 Power Connection

Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The unit will emit a beep and the display will light up, indicating it is ready for operation.

3.3 Drainage Options

The dehumidifier offers two drainage methods: manual drainage using the water tank or continuous drainage with a hose.

3.3.1 Manual Drainage (Water Tank)

When the 1.3-gallon water tank is full, the unit will beep and automatically shut off. The 'FULL' indicator will illuminate. Empty the water tank and place it back into the unit correctly to resume operation.

  1. Gently pull out the water tank from the back of the unit.
  2. Empty the collected water.
  3. Slide the empty tank back into its position until it clicks securely.

3.3.2 Continuous Drainage (Drain Hose)

For continuous operation without needing to empty the water tank, use the included drain hose.

  1. Locate the continuous drain port at the bottom of the water tank area.
  2. Insert the provided 3.9 ft drain hose into the drain port.
  3. Ensure the hose is sloped downwards to allow water to drain by gravity into a suitable floor drain or container.
  4. Verify that the connection is secure to prevent leaks.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

Press the ON/OFF button to turn the dehumidifier on or off.

4.2 Setting Desired Humidity

When the unit is on, press the HUMIDITY button to adjust the desired humidity level. The humidity can be set between 30% RH and 80% RH in 5% increments. The unit will operate until the ambient humidity reaches the set level, then cycle on and off to maintain it.

4.3 Mode Selection

The dehumidifier offers several operating modes to suit different needs.

  • Dehumidification Mode: Standard operation to reduce humidity to the set level.
  • DRYING (Dry Clothes Mode): Press the DRYING button to activate. The unit will run continuously at high fan speed to quickly dry clothes.
  • IONIZER Mode: Press the IONIZER button to activate the negative ion generator, which helps purify the air.
  • Sleep Mode: When activated, the display lights dim, and the fan operates at a lower speed (approximately 42dB) for quieter operation during sleep.

4.4 Fan Speed Adjustment

Press the SPEED button to cycle through Low, Medium, and High fan speeds. Higher fan speeds result in faster dehumidification.

4.5 Timer Function

Press the TIMER button to set an auto-on or auto-off time from 1 to 24 hours. Each press increases the time by one hour. The timer will count down and then perform the programmed action.

4.6 Automatic Defrost

The unit is equipped with defrost sensors. If the coil temperature drops below 45°F (7°C), the unit will automatically enter defrost mode. The 'DEFROST' indicator will illuminate, and the compressor will temporarily stop while the fan continues to run to melt any ice buildup. Operation will resume automatically once defrosting is complete.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your dehumidifier.

5.1 Cleaning the Air Filter

The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.

  1. Turn off the dehumidifier and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the air filter from the back of the unit.
  3. Wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  4. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinstalling it.
  5. Reinsert the dry filter into the unit.

5.2 Emptying and Cleaning the Water Tank

Even with continuous drainage, it is recommended to periodically clean the water tank to prevent mold and mildew growth.

  1. Turn off the dehumidifier and unplug it.
  2. Remove the water tank.
  3. Clean the tank with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
  4. Dry the tank before placing it back into the unit.

5.3 Storage

If the dehumidifier will not be used for an extended period:

  1. Unplug the unit and empty the water tank.
  2. Clean the air filter and the water tank.
  3. Allow the unit to dry for at least 24 hours in a well-ventilated area.
  4. Wrap the power cord and secure it.
  5. Store the dehumidifier upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

Refer to the following table for common issues and their solutions.
