Setup
1. Battery Installation (AA Batteries)
- Locate the battery compartment cover at the bottom of the lantern.
- Twist or slide the cover to open it.
- Insert 3 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: The primary lithium-ion battery is pre-installed and rechargeable. The AA batteries serve as a backup power source.
2. Charging the Lithium-ion Battery
The lantern's internal lithium-ion battery can be charged using two methods:
- USB Charging:
- Locate the USB charging port, typically covered by a glow-in-the-dark cap.
- Connect the provided USB charging cable to the lantern's port.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
- The charging indicator light (if present) will show the charging status.
- Solar Charging:
- Place the lantern in direct sunlight, ensuring the solar panel (located on top) is fully exposed.
- Solar charging is slower than USB charging and is best used for maintaining charge or for emergency charging in outdoor environments.
It is recommended to fully charge the lantern via USB before first use.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off and Mode Selection
The lantern features a single power button for easy operation.
- To Turn On: Press the power button once. The lantern will turn on in the last used mode (recall mode).
- To Cycle Modes: Press the power button repeatedly to cycle through the available lighting modes:
- High Light (500 lumens)
- Low Light
- Night Light
- To Turn Off: Continue pressing the power button until the lantern turns off, or press and hold the button for a few seconds in any mode.
2. Placement and Usage
- Freestanding: Place the lantern on any flat, stable surface for 360-degree area illumination.
- Hanging: Utilize the integrated hanging hook for hands-free lighting. This is ideal for tents, workshops, or outdoor shelters.
